Remember last year, Dark Waltz was used for one couple's smooth waltz on the American dance show, So You Think You Can Dance? Well, they've just used a Hayley song again this year! Last night, they used Hayley's May It Be for all the dancers to use for a waltz in front of the judges, in order to move on to the next round. Tonight they will choose the top 20. After difficult searching, I finally found it a video that shows the ballroom auditions; they start showing it at about 5:03, then they keep showing more couples doing the same dance to the same song, 3 or 4 times I think, till the end of the video. They seem to skip parts of the song, but I think this is just editing to show certain moves. Here it is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn6OIRPZXq8The ballroom choreographers must have decided that Hayley's music was great for waltzing! They must have heard the one last year and liked it. Nigel, the main judge, is from England, too, so he probably is more aware of Hayley too. I tried to find the original thread where the dance to Dark Waltz was posted last year, but I was unable to find it. I was very pleased to hear another Hayley song being used on this show! Hopefully some of the dancers themselves will have liked it and want to buy her albums, too!

I posted a comment below the video, in response to someone else. They knew what the song was, and knew it wasn't Enya's version, so I told them.

Hi Libby Great find! I had to wait until now to watch as, for some reason, it wouldn't load for me earlier At least that's a few more people over there now who may be asking "Who was that singing?" Best wishes Grant

Hi Libby Great find! I had to wait until now to watch as, for some reason, it wouldn't load for me earlier At least that's a few more people over there now who may be asking "Who was that singing?" Yes, it took forever to start for me, too, after the first time I played it. I had to keep refreshing it in order to use the Reply link. I had trouble with that, too. I thought it was just because I was listening to an Enya CD at the same time, but maybe it was just the video that was slowing everything down. Well, now they know who is singing! I was so excited and surprised to hear Hayley's song on the show, that I hardly paid attention to the actual dancing. I was too busy thinking about whether I'd be able to find the video for posting it on the forums.

Well, so much for that, the video has been removed. I think I'll visit the forum on Fox, like I did last year, and see if anyone says anything about it there.

I went to the forum hosted by Fox.com, and found one person who asked what the song used for ballroom dance, and I replied. The first time I tried posting a youtube video of the song, and it showed up, but today, it was gone. Probably because of the video. So, I replied again without the youtube video. I wanted to add the link to Hayley's site, but I was afraid any link would get deleted, so I didn't. However, I saw links in other people's posts, but I didn't want to risk my post getting deleted again. There was also a question about a song list for the show, and someone gave a link to a blog about the show's music, and they were all listed with a link to Itunes for that specific song, including May it Be. Even so, someone there asked what the ballroom song was, and I answered there, too. This time I included Hayley's website address.

They used May it Be for a waltz again! The judges said the song was way too slow, so they kind of ruined it a little. I don't think they meant they didn't like the song, but just not for the dance. Well, it's good they didn't use Enya's, because hers is even slower! It's still a beautiful song, and I thought the dance was nice. This should still be great exposure for Hayley! Besides, some people might not have been watching when they used the song the first time, since the competition had not really begun yet. The video isn't on youtube yet (maybe by tomorrow), so for now, this is all I could find: www.rickey.org/?p=20091You may have to refresh the page in order to get it to play. I did, and then it worked fine.

So, finally here is the youtube video of the waltz to May it Be, danced by Jeanine and Brandon: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOx3K9gt-V0Phooey on Nigel! By the way, Jeanine Mason was the winner of the show!

I've now moved this thread from Miscellaneous to the Media board, so it should be easier to find in future. Richard

Yeah, Lisa's version is a little rougher. Hayley's is so pretty. Anyway, that's why I posted it on a Hayley forum. Nice banners and avatar, BTW.

And now Season 7 of the show has just got underway (yesterday). No Hayley songs yet, though. I guess we can't expect one every season! The last one was in Season 5, last June. Normally, there's 1 season per year, but last year they had a fall season too. There's no telling if they'll do that this year or not.
