Debbie Wiseman scores watery adventure:
British composer Debbie Wiseman is currently working on the score for Flood an action adventure film which will hit screens in 2007! The film, which stars Robert Carlyle, Tom Courtenay, Joanne Whalley and David Suchet, is about the terrifying consequences of a raging storm and high tides that threaten a vulnerable London with a massive tidal surge. The score is being performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, who previously worked with the composer on Arsène Lupin and The Truth About Love. The film will also feature a title-song performed by international star Hayley Westenra, who is also involved in Debbie Wiseman’s upcoming project called ‘Different Voices’. The project, which is a new take on the ‘young persons guide to the orchestra’, will premiere on Easter Monday (April 9th) 2007 at Cadogan Hall in London, performed by the RPO and narrated by Stephen Fry.
There are no details of an album release for Flood as yet, but we’ll keep you posted!

'Flood' and a rehash of 'Young Person's Guide' sounds all very exciting. It also explains the long period of 'quiet' with little new news. It's all been building. Well done Hayley. Is it possible there is more to the title song of 'Flood' than that she simply sings it?

Hi Folks. This is another wonderful opportunity to present music to people who may otherwise have no particular interest in music.(That they are aware of).
The first music I actively tried to get on an album was as a result of hearing it at the cinema (one of the few places that had a good sound system in the early sixties) It was Ennio Morricone's The good the bad and the ugly. I still have it.
Maybe in some way this will make up for "Listen to the wind" not being the major hit it should have been.
