This sequence of events is very worrying, especially in the light of internationally-wide advance publicity and her past associations. This is the first post I have read on this particular cancellation, has a reason been given, even if it is not a Hayley factor it is damaging? Is it bad promotion, insufficient sales, which I have difficulty in believing? When I was there for Hayley last time (her second performance there) the crowds were there as I stayed on for one or two other events and was in fact tempted to try for it this time.

Now the Faenol Festival has been cancelled two years running, I can't see it returning in the foreseeable future. A lot of people will have lost money, so Bryn Terfel won't be able to raise the necessary funding in the present economic climate. Richard Aah. Now we are getting to the heart of the matter--it was the Terfel end that cancelled the whole kerfuffle! Peter S.

Hi Peter You make a very good point. If you have read my recent posts I essentially said the same thing. Not that I make any difference I will not book another Hayley concert in the U K until an acceptable reason for the cancellations is given. seems to me that her management people are not doing a good job If. Hayley had so many commitments then the concerts should not have been scheduled. But no explanations have been forthcoming. And I'm not about to make plans months in advance only to have my plans upset. Larry

Hi Peter, A reason has indeed been given and as you seem to have recognised in your follow-up post, this particular cancellation would have been entirely out of the hands of Hayley, her booking agents and management team; it is very important that we all recognise this. Here is the relevant part of the press report linked by Richard: Sadly, it seems that the wonderful Faenol Festival in that far flung corner of rural Wales has passed its sell-by date and like Richard, I too can't see it returning until the economic downturn is over, which could be several years. Dave Yes, that is what I was afraid of. Not even Hayley couldn't save it. And if you had seen Hayley last monday as i did, you would know that after her several months rest from performing, she has come back better than ever. It would have been worth it just to see her, but how many know that? Any loss of a Hayley performance is a tradgedy right now, and there have been too many of those recently. But at least we have the new album to look forward to. I just know it will be awesome! Martin D
