According to the BBC website, Hayley will appear at Bryn Terfel's Faenol Festival on Bank Holiday Monday, 30th August 2010. So Rhydian, too. I will seek confirmation from Hayley's Management. Hayley has appeared there once before, in 2003 and you can see all her songs in our playlist here at HWI on YouTube The website is www.faenolfestival.com/lineup/battle_of_britain_70th_anniversary_show it but Hayley's participation must still be regarded as UNCONFIRMED, even if tickets go on sale on Thursday as stated.Dave EDIT by Dave 7 June 2010: Hayley's participation is now CONFIRMED
EDIT by Dave 16 July 2010: Date Changed from Monday 30 August to Saturday 28 AugustEDIT by Dave 5 Aug 2010 - entire festival is now cancelled.

news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/north_west/8678544.stm[/url] Westlife headline revamped Bryn Terfel festivalWestlife return to Faenol after a four-year absence Irish band Westlife are to open this year's Faenol Festival, the music showcase launched by opera star Bryn Terfel 10 years ago. Tenor Rolando Villazon, The Feeling, and pub landlord comedian Al Murray also feature among the headline acts. The restructured August bank holiday event is back after a year's absence following financial losses in 2008. Bryn Terfel said it was a "celebration" of the last 10 years combined with a new-look structure for a secure future. Terfel added: "We're bringing back some of the artists that have wowed our audiences and we're also introducing some new elements to the weekend." The Gwynedd festival, which has established itself as one of the major events on the north Wales calendar, is being organised by Terfel, the Faenol Festival Trust and a new promoter, Universal Music Classical Management and Productions (UMCP). Hayley Westenra Classical performer Hayley Westenra is back at the Faenol for a second time The revamped festival also has support from Gwynedd Council. Westlife, who starred at the festival in 2006, are among the famous names who have previously taken to the Faenol stage. They will perform on the first night of this year's festival on 27 August. Rolando Villazon, who appeared in 2007, is returning for the Opera Gala night on the Saturday, after his recent stint as a judge on ITV's Popstar to Opera Star. Bass baritone Tefel will also be on stage that night, and both men will sing with soprano Sylvia Schwartz, and Romanian mezzo Ruxandra Donose. However, the traditional Welsh bands' night - the Sunday night of the festival - will be headlined by The Feeling this year. The Feeling performing at Glastonbury The Feeling will be joining a mixed line-up on the festival's Sunday night Organisers said Tan y Ddraig 10 will also include a "fiery combination of top Welsh bands mixed with some household UK music industry acts". Llamberis-based group Yr Ods, Masters in France and new Cardiff singer songwriter Pete Lawrie will join indie favourites Shed Seven, Athlete and The Roads on the bill. On Bank Holiday Monday New Zealander Hayley Westenra will make her second appearance at the festival, and will be joined by X Factor runner-up Rhydian in a show billed as for all the family. There will also be The Battle of Britain 70th anniversary concert in support of the RAF Benevolent Fund. For the first time comedy will also make its appearance on the Faenol stage, when the festival closes with comedian Al Murray, performing as pub landlord, alongside Ed Byrne, Port Talbot born Lloyd Langford, Milton Jones and Tudor Owen from Felinheli. Terfel said: "I'm looking forward to welcoming people from all across the UK and the world to my corner of Wales once more, and to an unforgettable musical bank holiday weekend." Tickets go on sale on Thursday via the website, at venues in north Wales and, for the first time, from the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. Previous top names to perform at the event include Dame Shirley Bassey, Girls Aloud, Boyzone and Cerys Matthews

Thank you Dave. I see that Sylvia Schwartz whom I met in Paris will also be at the Faenol Festival. She has a beautiful, beautiful voice and a wonderful stage presence. It will be very tempting to come to Wales to see her AND Hayley. Stephany

Hi everyone, I have checked the situation with Hayley's management and her participation in this event must still be regarded as " unconfirmed". Please bear this in mind, even if tickets naming her go on sale, but watch this space. I have amended the original link, thanks Richard! Cheers, Dave

I hope you can make it, the videos we have of the 2003 event make it clear that this is a very exciting festival and it's in a magnificent part of the UK. We know Hayley loves it, because it reminds her of NZ. It would be good to see you over here again (though I do not yet know if I can go, assuming that it is eventually confirmed!). Cheers, Dave

Hi all It's good to be back on the forum now that the exams are over...whilst doing some research today I realised I will be on holiday in North Wales at the time of this concert...could anyone tell me where it is exactly as I'm trying to persuade my family that we should go but we can't seem to find any information about the exact location...thank you for your help in advance hope I can go....last time I saw Hayley live was with Jonathan at the Valentine's Tour when I was too shy to introduce myself to hwi members i saw there, still have some great memories from that concert...anyway...definitely time for another one I think, and I think the battle of Britain tour looks so good- also I'm studying parts of it...so it will be interesting to hear some music and everything from the era !!! best wishes Sing

Hi Sing
You really must introduce yourself to the other HWI members if you are at a concert.
Posting on HWI becomes far more interesting when you have met some of the other members in person, they will have no bother introducing you to Hayley if she is available.
go on , do it ,, you know you want to !

And you are right, It IS hard to find out where it is, if you don't already know! The website is badly lacking in location details. Faenol (pronounced Vie-noll) Festival takes place on the Vaynol Estate (Vaynol Hall) near Bangor, less than 2 miles from the Menai suspension bridge and that's why it's so hard to find - the spelling! Here it is on google Maps: Faenol Festival Location (Vaynol Estate) near BangorAll details are linked from there; I think that may help! Cheers, Dave PS: for Paul: It may be easier for you to get to from Dublin than many of us from England!

Hello everyone especially sing and anyone else who hopes to go. BBC has reported and the Festival website confirms that "due to unavoidable logistical reasons", and I quote: The festival website lists the same line-up i.e. RAF Central Band, Hayley and Rhydian, and the start time is listed as 12:30 pm. I know no more than that and I read about it too late in the day to be able to check with Hayley's management but I think it is reasonable to assume that the new details are firm. I will email for confirmation, and for any other concerts updates, on Monday 19 July. I will alter the events schedule date here and on the website. Cheers, Dave

Heyy everyone...I'm pretty sure I will be able to make the new date...but the Monday would have been sooo much easier!...We're travelling to Wales that day...my Dad's still discussing it with my Mum...he says he'd love for us to still go...especially as he's got the tickets!!...which were pretty hard at first to find...he says we may have to leave about 2-3 hours earlier to get there in time...he hopes it's not too hot then...we'll get enough sleep before we get there so we're wide awake... I think I will make sure I am the whole time!!! still, will keep you posted...fingers crossed everything goes to plan...my dad says he'll have decided by the weekend ...once he makes a decision (particularly this far in advance)..he generally keeps to it, which could be either a good thing, or a bad thing. best wishes Sing...who is really hoping that everything goes to plan, and the date isn't changed again... and really feeling for those hoping to go to the concerts that have been cancelled :-(
