Hi everyone, I'm really sorry that those of you who live outside the UK seem to be unable to purchase this DVD, it's something that at first, I did not expect. The problem from what I can gather seems to be the terms of the MCPS " Limited Manufacture Licence" under which the DVD was apparently produced and distributed. This seems to be: I am surprised that they will not supply purchasers outside the UK who are in the European Union, as the terms of the Limited Manufacture Licence appear to allow this. Perhaps any EU members who are not in the UK may wish to write a polite email to the Underhills when things have died down a little, they have probably been very busy recently. They can only say no again, so it may be worth a try. For anyone who can try and does do so, good luck! Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, That's a thought. It's a pity I wasn't aware of the whole licensing issue at the time... may have been able to get around it by arranging it to be delivered to a friend in the UK and then have it posted on... but live and learn, I guess! All I can say is bring on the next album! Hopefully a DVD will be recorded at some point to go along with it. Cheers, Jillian

Hi Dave,
The licencing conditions are printed on the back of the DVD sleeve in small print. It states that
"This DVD is not to be exported, resupplied, disributed by way of trade outside the EU without a proper licence from John and Tiggy Underhill".
We can't even post small samples or screen caps on HWI it appears.
It's frustrating, although I am grateful to Juhn and Tiggy for making it available at all.

We can't even post small samples or screen caps on HWI it appears. Hi Martin D, Yes, it says that distribution within the EU is permitted, as I mentioned in my post above. There may of course be other aspects of the licence that persuaded them not to distribute it outside the UK, we'd have to ask, to find that out. CORRECTIONUK copyright law does, however, appear to allow "fair dealing" for "criticism, review, and news reporting" of copyright works. Therefore, I should be able to add short extracts or screencaps from my copy of the DVD, in support of my critical technical review of it. The relevant legislation is the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (probably sections 30 & 189 and Schedule 2) but I need independent confirmation of my interpretation, from a reputable source. EDIT I now have independent confirmation of my opinion, from UK Copyright Service, therefore I will definitely be posting short video/audio clips to support my review, in the next day or two. Phew! That was a few hours of hard work! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifDave

Thanks for clarification Dave. It must be so frustrating for Hayley's fans around the world to know that there is a DVD featuring her that they can't legally have a copy of.
If you can do screen caps and samples of the performances, at least they will have an idea of what it is like.
Actually I'm frustrated too. Our DVD player has broken down and our TV repair man took it away. I'm reduced to playing it on the computer, which is less that ideal.

Hello everyone Actually found time to watch the DVD last night - well, the first half anyway. After an incredibly busy weekend, I doubted my ability to remain awake for the second part so didn't tempt fate! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI have to say that I didn't find the variable volume too much of a problem - once I found a level that enabled me to hear the quieter parts clearly, I just let the louder ones belt out. I did notice the picture softness from time to time but neither that nor the odd picture size detracted from my enjoyment. The most astonishing thing about this DVD, as Dave has already mentioned, is the quality of the sound reproduction for Hayley's performance. It was so good, I thought Hayley had stepped out of the TV and was standing in my living room! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant, Thanks for your review! I'm really quite curious about this sound... everyone seems to be raving about it. I've never heard Hayley live in person and it's beginning to make me very curious! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif What is it about the sound that makes it different from the regular videos that we see? What do you think the best song on the DVD was? Cheers, Jillian

Cheers, Jillian I think Dave described the sound quality, and the reasons for it, in his review far better (and technically more accurately) than I ever could - just imagine Hayley singing into a microphone that is connected directly to a pair of headphones that you are wearing! As to the best song, well, I haven't listened to the whole concert yet so I'll reserve judgement! Best wishes Grant

Hi Folks,
My copy finally arrived today and I agree with the comments already made about the technical quality. Glad Hayley came over loud and clear though.

Soooo... At the prompting of Martin in the “Collections” thread, I decided to dig a little deeper into this mysterious "The Angel and The Fallen" DVD, as I'd never seen it discussed anywhere else about the forum. And it led me here! As it is obviously unavailable for commercial purchase, would one of you lucky ducks mind posting some clips from this DVD to satisfy my hungering starving curiosity? Thanks very much! -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
