I just recently discovered the composer Christopher Tin. His music is technically not classical crossover, but is close (is probably best classified as classical/ world.) I think that may people here would enjoy several of his songs... His album Calling All Dawns, released last October, is worth a listen. His most noteworthy song to date is Baba Yetu (was a theme song for a video game.) Here is the official video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTGDrr41aw8Other noteworthy songs on his CD include Mado Kara Mieru, Hamsafar, and Kia Hora Te Marino (this one is based on a traditional Maori blessing.) You can hear samples of all of these on his website: www.christophertin.com/Katie

I LOVE the Baba Yetu piece! And what's even more amazing is that the rest of my family does too! Usually when I find music I like, the rest of my family doesn't like it, but not this time. Melody

Haven’t logged in a while (but have been visiting to watch out for new Hayley news.) Saw this concert in London (July 19) for Christopher Tin (composer) and thought it might be something other Hayley fans may enjoy (until Hayley schedules more than the one show in Dublin.) Christopher will conduct with the Angel City Chorale and Royal Philharmonic. Christopher Tin was the last artist to win the Grammy for classical crossover in the US before the category was discontinued in 2012. You can listen to snippets from his latest album on Christopher’s Soundcloud: soundcloud.com/christophertin/sets/the-drop-that-contained-the-seaAnd tickets are available here: www.cadoganhall.com/event/the-music-of-christopher-tin-160719/Wish I could go, but don’t have the vacation time make it over to London. Add on: Looks like he will actually be in other cities. Full list here, but the show in London is the only one that will feature the Royal Philharmonic. www.christophertin.com/concerts.htmlKatie
