Hi Nicola, We wouldn't have, we check for that kind of thing. In fact, I'll repeat your link by quoting it! She reminds me of Sissel, who I like a lot. Cheers, Dave

I happened to listen to this song before, Nicola, though your website. Nice song, nice girl, and nice voice. Although now, I couldn't help noticing that it is a little thin, would be nice if she worked a little more to have more power and fullness.

From what she told me in the interview, she doesn't want to, Michal. She says 'film music' is the best place for her voice, because she doesn't want her voice too pop, but she doesn't want to develop more into classical. She likes her voice the way it is. Fair enough really. I quite like her, although I don't like her vibrato sometimes (might be the thinness in her voice that you mention that makes it sound a bit off).
As for as a person - never spoke to anyone like her. She's so gentle and spiritual. Everything's about the soul, peace and love. Uses a lot of imagery when she speaks. She also avoided one of my questions which would require her to pick a side of an argument, which she refused to do really, she just gave an alternative answer. Mega sweet woman. Can't really describe her!

Well, of course, it's her choice, and we should respect it. Just said that from my point of view would be nice if her voice could fill a little more the sound of the song.
And, as I said, looks a nice girl, lol, so I guess I wasn't wrong. Some people are very worth knowing personally.

She seems very comfortable with herself and her music. It's interesting to listen to an artists when they are at that stage. I look forward to her upcoming album.

Hi Nicola,
You've done it again. Another artist I had never heard of. I loved that song. The backing reminds me of CW's backing muicians, but whereas they can sometimes be a bit too heavy for my taste, this wasn't. Is Giotgia another well kept secret as far as UK mauci is concerned?

I think Giorgia has performed at our Hampton Palace with José Carreras, but apart from that, she hasn't really come to the UK at all. Her market is in Asia and Canada. Her international albums are with EMI, so I imagine she won't be trying (EMI don't really understand the UK crossover market) But away from us, she's done plenty. Performing at Olympics, PBS special, performing for leaders, etc. She even reached the top 20 in America's Billboard charts. She's released three domestic albums (like Hayley's NZ albums) and only one international album (where that song features - From the Heart. It heavily features Ennio Morricone, of all people (four songs, I think) One of them is 'My Heart and I', which I wouldn't recommend to Hayley fans for obvious reasons! It's a wonderful arrangement, but Giorgia's voice is very different from Hayley's - doesn't have the same purity nor its polish. The interview was about her upcoming second international album.

I found this interview quite a challenge. We didn't always understand one another, and her vocab in English isn't as wide as it would be in her other languages. She also ordered words in the opposite way we do in English, so lots of Yoda editing. I felt kind of sad "englishifying" everything she said. The way she spoke was very charming. If it were acceptable and not considered bad grammar (in English), I would have left it the way she said it! <3 www.classical-crossover.co.uk/interviews/254-giorgia-fumanti-june-2010.html

Hi Nicola
Just a small point but there's an error in your latest top ten chart. You're showing Fiona as having moved up two places but Jonathan Ansell, who Fiona changed places with is shown as being down one place although it should be two.
Best wishes Grant

It's our first anniversary today (6th of August). To celebrate, we organised something crazy... we asked a bunch of artists for them to donate signed CDs for you guys to win. To my astonishment, I have 13 signed albums in reply that are now up for grabs! I don't know if you want to mention this elsewhere, as Hayley has two albums in the bunch (though they were not donated). You can find more info here: www.classical-crossover.co.uk/blog/1-latest-news/266-anniversary-competition.html
