Hi all, As April Fool's Day is close, and the time of jokes is upon us, I thought I'll present you all with some musical ones (all files are less than 3 MB): The audience for this concert didn't realise that the date of the concert was April 1 - They expected Simon and Garfunkel in full glory: The Sound of SilenceThe advertisment for this one stated that some young kids would perform - but this was the turn up: Sheeplechase (no, that's not a typing error ...) And this is how horses make fools of their riders on April 1: Horse Power (now this is a really hilarious one ...) Enjoy Gerrit

Haha, nice one Gerrit. I must admit that I didn't at first appreciate the first one. Then I found I had my speakers turned off. The necessary adjustment made all the difference... um... I think! I fared much better with the second although it sounded a little... well... woolley! I know the story behind the third clip. The horses were not feeling "stable" that day because they had been upset by their "neigh"bours. The riders had told the horses not to take offence. And they didn't. In fact, they didn't take any of them! Gerrit, just be thankful you weren't born two days later! Roger

Kept looking for a jokes/humour thread and all I could find was this, so if nobody objects, let me post these here:
I built an irony detector but it didn't work. It detected everything except irony.
What's red and smells like blue paint? Red paint.
A red ship and a blue ship collided at sea. All the sailors were marooned.

Hello folks! John Suchet made an amusing faux pas on Classic FM this morning. He played the third movement of Haydn's Military Symphony (No.100) and said it was music for marching. Unfortunately the third movement is a minuet in 3/4 time, so the only person who could march to it would be Rolf Harris as Jake the Peg! Here's a historic video in black and white: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS-itkO9ia8Richard

That is a lovely reminder Richard of how humour used to be so incredibly funny in the 'good old days'.
I still can't work out which was the false leg he was carrying.
Lovely anecdote.

Mike Yardley says it better than most of us could. David Sell can join Frank "The Butcher of Broadway" Rich in the pantheon of professional jerks. There was a reviewer called Sell Who didn't do terribly well His comments were crass Complete lack of class We think he's a pain in the ass. Actually I'm sorry his name ever got mentioned. How many of us had heard of him 2 week's ago ? I preferred it that way. Obscurity suited Mr Sell.

Mr. Sell made it perfectly clear: He possesses a very tin ear And a hideous mind That is easy to find If you search all the way up his rear.

Was there ever a sillier set Than the Hayley-Rolando duet? Hayley's voice, all in all, Carried well through the hall, But Rolando's was heard in Tibet!
