Hello again everybody! I've just listened to Hayley's interview with Aled Jones via the 'listen again' facility, and it is truly wonderful. Hayley is there for the whole programme, which takes 57 minutes, so try to find the time like I just did! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifHere is the link again: www.bbc.co.uk/wales/radiowales/shows/aledjones.shtmlIf you click on 'listen again' and an error message comes up, click on 'Radio Wales Player', then scroll down and click on 'Aled Jones'. Real Player is required, and you will only be able to listen again until the next show is transmitted next Sunday morning. Happy listening! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Thank you for the link, Richard. I think that is one of the best intereviews I have heard. A lot of that is down to Aled who, of course understands the performance and recording sides of the music industry but also knows Hayley well. All credit to him for conducting a superb interview.

Hi all,
I agree with you. This was a very interesting and relaxed interview with Hayley and one's of the best she ever made or better to say I till now heard from Hayley.

I tried to listen but all I got was a woman with an English accent saying, "Sorry, the program you requested is not available" or something like that... which was a bit of a dissapointment, lol. Hugs, Tashi

Hi Tashi, Roger and everyone, I agree that this was one of the very best interviews that Hayley has ever done and she was obviously very much at ease with Aled Jones, whom she knows very well. This is one for the archives I think so I've made up a 48kbps Windows Media file version of the full interview but with the music (none of which was Hayley herself singing) reduced to previews of about a minute or less. This should avoid any copyright problems and makes it much shorter at 36 minutes, with a correspondingly smaller file size (13 MB). I'll let Simon know as he may like to post it on the HWI website. And Tashi will be able to play it!

Hey, thanks for all the links! I listened to the interview and it was fabulous! I was able to listen to the interview on the original link so I don't think being out of the UK is the problem. Oh well, Tashi can listen to it quite a few times now! <3 Caite

Hi all. I'm listening to Dave's rendition now of the Aled Jones interview. What is very interesting is learning the wider range of music into which she herself is getting into for her own pleasure.
I think the third record is going to be Pure PLUS. I think she might well challenge us all with diversity. She was so right to have won the argument over 'Wuthering Heights' I trust Decca won't dare THINK of standing in her way this time.
I think that the third CD is going to be a repeat of the 'Wuthering Heights' argument but more diverse and more challenging!
Listening to the interview I wonder if she'd consider an anniversary re-recording and issue of her very first CD, say to celebrate her 21st or 25th?
Perhaps I'm just being provocative, or just spellbound hearing her chat! Brings back memories of her voice chatting standing right bang next to her, or that first time I made personal contact with her, when she just thrust that elfin hand of hers into mine and said, 'well you can't get any closer than saying 'hi!', can you?'

Perhaps I shouldn't do this, but i replied as follows to Tashi under the NOT World Cup thread which i think was a fair response to her but that reply also belongs here, so I've copied and pasted it!
I think this interview is great for the reassurance it gives. The tour clearly has not tired her. She is still fresh and bubbly and what is she saying? She goes for the quality of the material, crosses genres, as people's tastes do and, in effect DOES NOT LIKE COMPARTMENTALISATION!
She just wants to be Hayley singing a song! Like the girl she is, simple, straight forward, down to earth, practical and realistic. In short THE EXTRAORDINARY VOICE belongs to an everyday normal girl, which is what makes her SO EXTRAORDINARY and such an absolute joy.
Peter--once more enthused and waxing lyrical, feeling he's just once more encountered the person who is Hayley as fresh as if he's just met her again in person.
