I have come across a stream of promising upcoming artists who have contacted me (and I mean, REALLY promising) and one of them is this young lady. Ian Tilley is currently mixing and producing some of her tracks, so she has Hayley connections. I just had to share her. Her big difference is that she writes her own material, as well as adapting some more well known tracks. She's also an arranger and violinist. She's just 21 years old. Here is her Myspace: www.myspace.com/pippalustyGuiding Light is very reminiscent of All Angels, don't you think?

Here's the cynic signing in... Just kidding-- I really like Pippa's voice! I've known about her for a couple years now, and keep checking her myspace for new material! I think my favorite track is "Hushabye Mountain."

She has sent me some new tracks, and she sounds so much like she's a member of All Angels. She has a beautiful voice. I think the crossover audience will love her, as the operatic vocal is not everyone's cup of tea and Pip steers away from it completely.
She has a new song called 'Please Stay' and it's wonderful. She is ridiculously talented. Can't wait until she launches an album, but at the moment, she wants to wait until she has a larger following.

Hey guys. I know nobody has taken any notice really, but if you are in London this weekend, consider giving a new girl a chance! I really think she'll appeal to All Angels and Hayley fans. She is performing a concert with G4's Ben Thapa, and tickets are only £7 Date: Saturday, 27 February 2010 Time: 19:00 - 22:00 Location: 225 Wimbledon Park Road. Southfields, London SW18 5RT Stop by her Myspace and have a little listen: www.myspace.com/pippalusty

Just want to say that I had an incredible time seeing this girl. She is ASTONISHING! All of the songs I had heard from her led me to believe that she had a easy listening vocal, and that's it, but she sang Caccini's Ave Maria and Song to the Moon, and she can sing operatically, too.
Can't say enough how impressed I was. My partner kept saying how much she reminded him of Hayley, too. I can see the resemblance.
You may not know her yet, but you will in the future. Never been so excited about a new artist - and she was as pitch perfect and passionate on stage as Hayley is. <3

I went to her myspace, and all I could think was WOW!!! It's really too bad that she doesn't have more songs yet. I'll wait patiently until she does. Melody

Yes, Phillippa truly deserves a "WOW"! She is the real deal and one of the finest new voices I've heard in years. I suspect, however, that her surname would set off giggles here in the States.

Pippa likes her name, she thinks people will "remember" it. XD Indeed, when I have told people who I was going to see last weekend they repeated the name back to me: "LUSTY?!" XD It only cost £7 to see her. She performed with Ben from G4, who has a powerful voice, and also sang note perfect, but I wasn't as impressed by him. He was very stiff and though Pippa kept trying to pump chemistry at him, he gave none back. He is not right for a crossover audience anymore, I think. He seems to have elevated to opera - he is an odd pairing for Pip, but she must have enjoyed it, since she has booked another concert with him. Glad people have started to take notice of this thread! You should really try to catch her before she hits the big time (and she will). She does have more songs by the way. Ian Tilley is just putting the finishing touches on them. I bought an EP of hers whilst at the concert that had five songs, and she sent me a further four, so I have quite a sustainable track list. Been listening non-stop.

Hi, I was also at this concert because of Ben Thapa appearing and I was just blown away by Phillipa, she is wonderful and I can really see how she is similar to Hayley (who I also have seen with Jonathan Ansell). Phillipa has some wonder songs she has written herself and it was a fabulous evening. I really hope she does a concert with Ben again soon. They were accompanied by a guitarist Jake Gill who gave a beautiful rendition of A nightingale sang in Berkeley square. A fabulous evening with talented people and beautiful music.

You should really try to catch her before she hits the big time (and she will). Ben was very stiff because he was in an awful lot of pain as he had had an accident on a tube train recently, he fell and passed out and ended up in A&E so I'm pretty sure that was the reason you thought he looked he looked "stiff" When/where are they going to be performing again please??

That's not the kind of "stiff" that I meant (I heard the story, too). More to do with his performance style which was higher brow. It's not a criticism of his talent at all (he is incredible) but I didn't think he suited the crossover style concert that he used to enjoy with G4. I think, as I already said, that he has elevated higher than that, now. They will perform again on the 28th July, over in Cornwell.

I had a stupid smile on my face the whole time Jake was on. He has a lovely voice! Should be doing more with that than his guitar playing (which wasn't the best I had heard). And the pianist was always making mistakes and couldn't really cover them with improvision. Both of them were adequate accompanists, but Jake should probably headline his own show! XD

Fair comment about Ben, Nicola, he is into the 'heavy' opera now, some of it I like some I don't and some I am getting used too!!!!
Have to agree about Jake, his voice is lovely. I googled him and found a website with him in a group, sorry I have to go out now so can't find it.
Thanks for the info of the next concert.
