Hi Steve, Many thanks for sharing this article with us! That's a lovely picture of Hayley- WOW look at her shoes!!! The interviewer was a bit tactless wasn't he? No doubt poor Hayley was cringing!!! Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew,
It's Stuart - If I had a pound for every time I'm called Steve.... I agree re the article - and it is interesting that Hayley didn't give him a straight answer!
Like the picture too. what a shame they keep comparing her with another singer! If she had a pound for every time.....
Stuart

Can't read it at this small size, but I'm sure it will be scanned in big enough to read soon enough. I am not surprised, actually, singers with powerful, emotive voices and troubled personal lives frequently become gay icons, which is partly why that other singer for a time became popular with the gay community and had large numbers of gay couples at her recent "tour" if it can be called that (three dates does not a tour make, but I digress). Whether Hayley wants to embrace that fanbase or not remains to be seen, but, since she has one of the most trouble-free lives I can think of in the entertainment industry I doubt she'd be seen as an icon. Also, her choice of music, which still includes Amazing Grace and now original gospel songs leads me to believe her values MIGHT not be compatible with that. More on this later, but I must dash.

When did Hayley have a troubled life? I don't think one stalker incident counts.

You might think differently if it happened to you.

I don't think he was talking about Hayley at that point. The most cringeworthy question I can see is one similar to what quite a few interviewers have asked Hayley in the I.D. tour: Q: "Do you fancy any of them?" A: "Um..." Q: "You're hesitating there" A: They are all quite cute, three of them have got girlfriends anyway" Well that's what I could make out anyway, the rest seemed to be pretty standard fare (and to be honest, so was that one if I read it right). Thanks for the scan, Stuart! Cheers, Dave

When did Hayley have a troubled life? I don't think one stalker incident counts. I entirely agree Portia, but then he contradicted himself by admitting she had the most trouble-free life of an artist today! Peter

Peter Hi Peter, I edited out from your quote the copy of Stuart's scan, I hope you don't mind but it was taking up a lot of (duplicated) space and bandwidth in the thread! Stuart (and Steve!), thanks for the bigger scan - my eyes don't feel fuzzy any more! Cheers, Dave

Hi Stuart, Many thanks for enlarging the scan... We can certainly read the text more clearly now (do we really want to? ), but it's a shame we can no longer see Hayley's very elegant shoes Andrew
