Hi everyone, This is a suggestion of mine to help keep us amused while Hayley is on holidays. The idea is for members to post a photo of Hayley -- whether a concert pic, a news pic, a scan or whatever -- and describe the memory you have that attaches to it (whether significant, or trivial!) Might be a bit of fun and stimulate some conversation! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI'll start. These are some screen captures of the first time I ever heard Hayley sing -- it was very end of the Live in New Zealand special when she was singing Wuthering Heights. Remember Hayley's brief flirtation with the tabloids when she beat the odds to turn up wearing the exact same outfit as Amy Guy to the premiere of Marley and Me? :rollin The Valentines Tour with Jonathan Ansell is still my favourite Hayley tour so far! I remember the first time I downloaded the concert videos and recordings. My favourite performance was Time to Say Goodbye: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpX4PxIsaLkThis is a photo of Hayley performing Un Giorno Per Noi with Jonathan at the 2008 Classical Brits. This is memorable for me, because I think that was Hayley's most emotional performance (at least up until that point). www.youtube.com/watch?v=60NDl4afzxcOk, I'd better stop now and let someone else have at turn!

Hi Jillian I like the idea of this so I'll have a go too. I have no pictures from my first three concerts, although they were obviously memorable - the first meeting and then realising at Beverley Minster in early December 2005 that Hayley remembered me - both very special events. I then had to wait until July 2006 for my next concert - an out door one - so I got some pictures. This was "Toast New Zealand" and was the first time I had my picture taken with Hayley. I had a Minolta film camera in those days and it had a manual focus lens, but the picture was OK I was very nervous about how I should be with her and whether it would be OK for me to put my arm around her. Of course, as soon as I stood next to her, she put her arm around me and thus put my mind at ease. There are many special moments but coming right up to date, Dudley HAS to be one of THE greatest moments for me when Hayley acknowledged my 50th concert and I am indebted to Karsten for the memorable photo! That's it for now, I may add a few more, we'll see how it goes. Best wishes Grant

Well, I had an even longer gap than Grant. My first Hayley concert was March 2004. My second November 2004. My third not until April 2008. And that one was special, and I'm sure it was special for Hayley too. For me, it was the first time I met Hayley, and was also effectively her 21st birthday party with her "supporters". Yes Buxton Opera House 5 April 2008. I'm sure nobody there will ever forget it.. And of course, the first time Hayley actually signed something for me And for Sue and I, our first and only photo with Hayley. Perhaps it is time we had another. Some more photos from the after show party Martin D

This is a fun idea! Well, here is my very first Hayley concert back in 2004. She was touring with the Boston Pops. Hayley and I after the concert. Another memorable concert was in Cardiff 2007. It was my first concert while living in England. In the middle of her performance Hayley greeted me by name. And then after she exclaimed "What are you doing here?!" Because she knew that I didn't "belong" there. I got a nice hug <3 Caitlin

I don't have those kind of 'memories' (yet) so I can only share the screen captions of the Wuthering Heights video, which are already placed here. Wuthering Heights was also my first Hayley video on Youtube that I ever saw... Never forget that moment...

Hi Caitlin Yes, I remember Cardiff very well! All the hassle we had getting into the green room and then the look on Hayley's face when we all trooped in. She couldn't wait to get away from the "official" guests to come over to us and then, when she did, the speed with which she crossed the room to give you that hug was worthy of a professional sprinter! Love Grant

My first experience of Hayley was at the Coca Cola Christmas In The Park in Christchurch 2001. I was hooked ever since. Although I didn't take a photo here is a screencap from a video. Here is a closeup Hayley would have been 14 at the time. If you want to see the video of Hayley singing Silent Night here it is www.mediafire.com/?hzmjgy23mnnPlus if you want to see how Hayley sung O Holy Night at the Auckland Christmas In The Park 2002 then see it here. She sounded great even then. www.mediafire.com/?yo2um5zt3nzThe next photo is one experience I will hopefully see in 11 days time at the Blackbarn concert of Hayley and Fiona together again. This was taken at the last tour of NZ. Here are some of my favourite memories of that tour. Hayley signing my tour T shirt. Hayley surprised when I gave her an All Black Teddy Bear. Hayley has the Bear while talking to Tim.

They're great photos, Caitin! It was great fun when Hayley got to see the response that her World Games performance in Taiwan earned her. Here's a couple of photos of Hayley on the big screen performing to the crowd outside after her main performance during the Moon Festival in Taiwan. \ Here are the mock ups I did of the Winter Magic CD before release! The actual real product ended up looking very different in the end!

I first came across Hayley by the Celtic Woman advert for New Journey. Then I looked her up in Wikipedia, where I saw a beautiful picture of her: From there, I went to her website, which began playing the Treasure video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5iPbk0gjCQI was captivated by her voice, songs, image, and style. From then on, I was hooked.

Hi everyone Thanks Jillian for starting this thread and thanks to those who have already shared some photo moments with us. I just couldn't resist the opportunity to go back a few years in time and to share some of my most memorable Hayley moments, captured in photo's. Well, my first Hayley concert was in my own home town, I have to confess that I didn't really know who Hayley was back in 2005, apart from a vague recollection of a TV advert for a new CD (it was Pure of course) a year or so before. My first concert and first, somewhat unexpected meeting with Hayley, which i will never ever forget. I was with my wife and daughter on that night we hadn't taken a camera, so I 'borrowed' this photo, I think it was taken by Roger, who was also there but I didn't know him then of course. This was how Hayley looked when I very first met her. It was some time until my next concert, June 2006 to be precise. This was the first photo that I had taken with Hayley, thus it it very special to me. This was taken at the Savill Court Hotel, Nr Windsor, at a champagne reception after the show. This event was billed as 'Dinner With Hayley Westenra' The audience totalled no more than 200 and 40 of us got to chat with Hayley for an hour or so afterwards. In June 2007, I attended a concert in an out of the way seaside town called Porthcawl, South Wales. I was the only HWI member there that night and this next photo is without doubt my most favourite of all. You dont see many photo's of Hayley with out her usual broad smile. Caitlin, I loved when Hayley mentioned you by name during the recording session at the BBC in Cardiff - and the hug after the show. This was also the first time that I met you in person - remember the pizza at midnight when we got back to the hotel? Here we are waiting to go into the green room to see Hayley. Last but not least, its funny how things come full circle. Here I am with Hayley in December last year, back in my home town, exactly 4 years and 40 concerts later. Oh, so many memories of wonderful concerts, meeting other HWI friends, traveling around the country and visiting towns and cities and theaters that I had not been to before. Long may it continue. Best wishes Mark

Hi Mark and everyone Great memories! You've reminded me that I was going to add a few more. Telford - taken with my, then new, digital camera. Steve Abbott took this one, my second with Hayley and I felt much more relaxed Cadogan Hall for Debbie Wiseman's "Different Voices" where I presented Hayley with a "Beauty And The Beast" rose from our pantomime And finally, one of my particular favourites - taken after the Classical Brits in 2008. I though Hayley's dress went very well with my suit! Best wishes Grant
