Edit: NOW CONFIRMED FOR 20:30 to 21:30, May 14.
Hayley's official site tells us that "Live from NZ" will be shown on the UK digital channel ITV3 on May 14:
This is not one of the main UK TV channels but it's certainly going to be good for Hayley! *Now confirmed* in the schedules for 20:30, May 14 and hey, it kind of confirms the theory about the Ave Maria digital single being released to promote the DVD...

Are you sure? Look more closely. On the official site it actually says: "Hayley - Live in NZ" -- which sounds more like a promotional show for the benefits of residing in New Zealand, presented by (who else?) Hayley Westenra! She is, of course, the perfect-pitch person for the job.

Hi Steve,
The title varied between the NZ and UK releases of the DVD. "Live FROM New Zealand" wouldn't have made much sense to those living there. The content, however, is exactly the same.

On the official site it actually says: "Hayley - Live in NZ" -- which sounds more like a promotional show for the benefits of residing in New Zealand, presented by (who else?) Hayley Westenra! She is, of course, the perfect-pitch person for the job. No I'm not sure, it's simply the most likely scenario and yes, I did look at it closely. In case it changes, it currently says:
But there are some problems: 1) The description is vague. 2) Hayley's DVD has the subtitle "From New Zealand" 3) The TV schedule (Digiguide) does not yet list this programme 4) There is a one hour gap in the schedules for this channel - but the gap is at 21:00 not 20:00 on the date concerned. However, a) Hayley's DVD is sometimes known (incorrectly) on the Internet, including by several stores, as "Live in New Zealand". It was even known by that name on Hayley's official site until recently, as a Google search reveals. b) The Russell Watson Concert (in which Hayley appears) is listed for 20:00 three days earlier on the same channel and that programme description states "First of a new series". That one certainly does seem to be taken from Russell's DVD. Well the above statements cannot all be right but on balance I think Hayley's DVD will be shown in a shortened version, as the second programme in a series started by Russell's DVD extracts. If Hayley's website have got it even more badly wrong than I think, it could be a repeat of Russell's programme or anything else but I see no point on speculating about one hour NZ promotional shows that we've heard nothing about. Cheers, Dave

But there are some problems: 3) The TV schedule (Digiguide) does not yet list this programme 4) There is a one hour gap in the schedules for this channel - but the gap is at 21:00 not 20:00 on the date concerned... Digiguide have now updated with the complete ITV3 schedule for 14th May and there is no mention of Hayley or any programme that she is likely to appear in. So, either the report on Hayley's official site is wrong, or things have changed. Perhaps it was dependent on Hayley winning at the Classical Brits, perhaps it will be shown on another date... or perhaps Hayley's site got mixed up with the Russell NZ show to be shown on May 11 (in which Hayley will appear). Time will tell. Dave

I can't reveal all becauae it was part of my introduction to Steve Abbot, Hayley's manager, when I first started getting actively involved in supporting Hayley and interacting with this Forum (actually before I registered with it) and there were certain professional posibilities raised. But I did say to Steve that the DVD was superb and it really should be promoted with her CDs for sale. All I can say here is that at that time there was a certain problem over rights agreements and 'control'. Whether my 'persuasion' helped or was coincidental and had nothing to do with it we never know on these things but I noticed that at nearly all concerts subsequently DVDs were available and I believe a small but additional run was manufactured. Regardess of fact, what I'm sure Roger, Dave, Richard would echo is that Hayley and her team do NOT pay lip service to what you say. They do listen and if you know your subject and have a worthwile point to make, it is seriously listened to and you never know when your comment may just tip the scales over into a decision. Communication with them is a very friendly two-way interaction and there is no question that our reasoned debates and arguments and also on here make a positive contribution to Hayley. By the by, as I think of it, I also pushed her biography which I also feel is not only a lovely book about Hayley but provides an interesting insight into the international music business. That too started appearing on the interval stalls shortly after that conversation! Peter

itv3 program listing today, Hayley Westenra: Live from New Zealand, at 20.30 Sunday, the runtime for the concert on the DVD is 70 minutes, maybe an editted version? I would like to watch, but I suspect itv3 is a premium cable only channel. anyone know an internet link to their broadcast? TimJ

I've re-checked the Digiguide listings and they have now changed again - Hayley IS listed. It is also listed as a one hour programme on the Sky TV guide - the time is 8:30 pm NOT 8pm as stated by Hayley's official site. Full details: ITV3 is a FREE digital channel available on Freeview, Sky TV and cable TV in the UK. I think about half of the UK population can now get it but obviously, the audience will be a lot lower than the main ITV channel. The concert will be an edited version of what's on the DVD (roughly 70 minutes cut down to 45 minutes or so). Great news all the same! Cheers, Dave

On technical matters I hesitate to disagree with you Dave but when you say:

I think about half of the UK population can now get it but obviously, the audience will be a lot lower than the main ITV channel. I think you are being over-optimistic for 2 reasons. There are many seemingly illogical 'dead spots' for digital reception (I live in one of them and so need a secial aerial). In my area we will be the last to go over to digital only (2012) and this is a major populated area and people are holding back for two reasons: knowing prices will fall especially when 'last-minute' demand will increase short-term sales but also because while new monitors are HIDEF ready, there is too little HI-def transission.
This last reminds me. I took the 'Hayley from NZ' DVD to the States to show a friend of mine and it was the first time I had seen it on a decent Hi-def sized monitor, as opposed to seeing it on my laptop and I was amazed at what could then be seen which previously I had not noticed, altough the DVD itself is not Hi-def.
