Hello, I just joined this forum (and Hayley's official one too, although waiting for the approval still), so, let me introduce myself to the lovely people you seem to be.
My name is Michal, I am 19 and I am Spanish (Catalan), although, since my father is Polish and I have lived many years in Krakow, I consider myself half-polish too. Of course, as you may have already guessed, I am a big fan of Hayley...
Oh,. but before continuing with this serf-introduction, let me warn you.. I have the tendency to write too much, specially if I write about a thing that I am interested about (it's because I like to be as clear and detailed as possible). And that sometimes can even become a problem, so I apologize from the very beginning about it. Also, my English level, although I keep working hard to improve it, may be far from perfect yet, hope you don't mind, and, of course, any correction is welcome.
Well, and now, shall I write a little more about myself? I live in Barcelona, the hometown of the great José Carreras, I am studying Computer Engineering at the UPC (Polytechnic University of Catalonia), I also practice sailing, which is my biggest passion. But right after sailing, comes music, which is something I wouldn't be able to live with. My musical tastes are wide (From pop-rock to traditional or classical music) and I can listen almost to anything (well, I dislike rap, but that's all, XD). But, classical music has a special place in my tastes, my favorite composers are Beethoven (9th symphony, for me, the greatest music ever composed) and Bach, and I periodically attend to events from two classical concert seasons in my city. Also, I take music and keyboard lessons at a very amateur level, but got somehow even to compose a short piece (a trio for Flute, Violin and Piano).
I discovered Hayley a couple months ago, watching a video of her memorable collaboration with Celtic Woman and since then, I couldn't stop listening to her, almost everyday. I bought the NZ edition of her River of Dreams album and I was so happy when, after little more than a week, I received it! She has surely something special in her voice and in the way she sings, it's been a really long time since any artist have caused me such an impact. It's a shame she isn't that known here, in Spain, (I think I am the first declared Spanish member here) but hopefully this will change little by little, and if I can do anything about it, I will surely do it.
Finally, it's great to be here with you, to talk about that lovely kiwi lady. I still don't know how active I will be here, studying requires lots time and dedication, but I am sure I'll have a great time with you all. And now, going to study a little, have an exam tomorrow. See ya all.
