Hayley on GMTV, ITV1, 11th April !

Hayley is scheduled to appear on GMTV throughout the UK early on Tuesday morning, 11th April. This will be "the morning after the night before"... the night before being her birthday! You have to be up early, VERY early to appear on these breakfast TV shows i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Later that day, Hayley will be singing at the new Wembley Arena (completed only last week) opening for Il Divo... and the day after that too! I read on Il Divo's website that they will be on prime time TV only once during their UK leg of the tour, so this is quite a coup for Hayley and it will help her first week re-released album sales enormously

I think you can safely assume that by hook or by crook, whatever Hayley says or sings on GMTV will be made available for you - and everyone else in Christchurch. We don't miss much!

Hayley Westenra is already the world's most successful female classical artist and the UK's fastest selling debut classical artist.

She has sold over two million albums world wide and her debut album, 'Pure' (800,000 and triple platinum in the UK) and it remains the best selling album of all time in her native New Zealand.

The current album, Odyssey, went Gold and a special edition of it came out on 10th April with some added new tracks including 'The Water Is Wide'.

She's currently on a World Tour as Il Divo's special guest and these include two shows at Wembley Arena.

Things you never knew...

Hayley is the youngest ever Ambassador for UNICEF. She went on a field trip to Ghana to publicise a project she is helping fund, raising money for bicycles for young girls to get to school from outlying areas. Hayley has also been an Ambassador for Save the Children, Hong Kong and recently took part in a breast cancer charity awareness campaign in New Zealand.

She's also involved in Global Angels - Molly Bedingfield's (mum to Daniel and Natasha) charity and is helping them launch their new campaign. Global Angels strive to make the world a safer and kinder place for all children.

Hayley became the biggest selling classical artist in Japan in 2004. Her hit single 'Amazing Grace' turned gold and was used as the theme tune for a famous Japanese drama series.

Hayley performed for the Queen at the VE Day 60th Anniversary Celebrations in London's Trafalgar Square on 8 May 2005 with Sir Cliff Richard, Will Young, Katie Melua, Daniel Bedingfield, Heather Small and Katherine Jenkins among others.

Hayley is by now pretty synonymous with sport, particularly football and rugby and she was even adopted by The All Blacks as their lucky mascot last year, having performed the New Zealand national anthem on the pitch so many times (and they never lost a game)!

Hi everyone,

Well Hayley's GMTV appearance turned out to be four appearances spread over an hour and threequarters and she spent a total of over 17 minutes on screen

The first was an interview at 7:35 am followed by an ad break then her first performance of "The Water is Wide". At 9 am, we were surprised with an announcement that Hayley would be on again after the ad break and they showed a clip from the "Water" video. After the ads, there was the second (longer) interview and Hayley was cheery and in good "interview" form!

After another ad break we had another surprise. One of the GMTV presenters turned to "Hayley's Manager" (Giselle, Steve's assistant) and there followed some quips between presenters and Giselle as it was revealed she was a ball-girl at the recent charity tennis match involving both the presenters!

Hayley then sang The Water is Wide "live" for the second time but at the end, we... and especially Hayley... were treated to an even bigger surprise. She was presented with a large 'framed' award for selling over 2 million albums Worldwide - a kind of birthday present... and she looked absolutely delighted.

All in all GMTV was exactly the opposite of last night's Classic FM appearance - it must have been everything that Hayley and her Management could have wished for and it all went very well.

I believe the host was talking about Wembley, the concert with Il Divo? If that's what you're referrring to.
