Remember remember, the 5th of November, the gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason, why the gunpowder treason, should ever be forgot....

Hi Ben tonight I am going to New Brighton Beach to see the Guy Fawkes fireworks display at the pier. Usually a big crowd turn up for the free 15 minute display and tonight looks like it is going to be warm. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Well I went to the fireworks display. I got to the beach about 8pm and set up my camp chair and had my cup of coffee and a packet of lollies while listening to Winter Magic. Nothing better than watching the ocean while listening to Hayley lol. The 15 minute display started at 9:10pm and then I rushed back to my car to avoid the traffic jams and was home by 9:45pm. Now I can hear fireworks being let off around my house. It is funny that New Zealand still follows Guy Fawkes as at this time of year it normally ends up being busy for the Fire Departments.

Hi Ross Fireworks night in the UK is usually a cold time! There is the tradition of families going to their local firework displays all dressed up in coats, woolly hats, gloves and wellies because the displays are usually in the middle of a field, which is most probably wet! A wet field with lots of people walking around quickly turns into a bog! Thats a lovely scene you have pictured for me Ross - An ocean view at 8pm whilst listening to Winter Magic. The tranquility.... Cheers, Ben P.S Thanks for noticing this thread and replying! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Sounds like an wonderful fireworks display by the ocean, Ross!
Ben, I can imagine all of the fireworks going off in most back gardens even at this late hour!
Happy Bonfire Night

Hello everybody! It was very quiet in my area last night compared with previous years. There were a few fireworks going off in back gardens, but they were all over by 8:30 pm. Nobody asked me for a penny for the guy this year. Richard
