Aled's next CD is it seems going to be a "Greatest Hits" and as discussed in the Hayley Twitter thread, includes the Silent Night duet with Hayley. There is an existing thread about that duet in this Aled sub-board. There has been speculation that Hayley may have recorded a new version of this or some other duet for this album but I have seen no evidence for this. Here is the track list from HMV hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;0;-1;-1;-1&sku=269901 * 1. How Great Thou Art * 2. Deep Peace * 3. Pie Jesu * 4. Hallelujah * 5. I Believe * 6. Suo Gan * 7. Did You Not Hear My Lady * 8. You Raise Me Up * 9. Abide With Me * 10. Silent Night-With Hayley Westenra * 11. Dear Lord And Father Of Mankind * 12. Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace * 13. O Come All Ye Faithful * 14. Land Of My Fathers (Hen Wlad) * 15. Ave Maria * 16. The Rose

Hi Dave I was hoping someone (thought it might be you ) would provide some details of Aled's album - I see it is due for release on 23rd November - surely not enough time for Hayley's mystery duet to be for that? Best wishes Grant

Hello Grant,
I think it's highly unlikely. But nothing is impossible.
Cheers, Dave

My goodness, he released a 'best of' two years ago! What does he mean by it? Okay, I know what UCJ mean by it, but still, pretty poor. Would love a new album from Aled.

With the help of You Tube, I've just discovered some of Aled's material from way back when he was a boy soprano (or treble or whatever the term is). WOW!! I've never listened to that sort of music before and I've had the socks knocked off of me! I then also watched a video of a very young Aled announcing his retirement .... at age 16! I guess that's the problem with that genre -- you've got to go through puberty eventually! (And I'm surprised he managed to last until 16 before his voice broke! That was some good fortune.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFSyRFtXlc0It's great that he's managed to rediscover his voice in a new format and continue with his music career.

Well, I always like Aled, and Sue is quite a fan of his. We have seen him perform I think three times in the last couple of years, once with Hayley.
I think when he reappeared with his adult voice, many people thought that his best days were behind him. I once heard him say he can actually still sing Walking in the Air in a high pitched voice. He didn't demonstrate though!!
I doubt we will buy this album, since i thin k we already own most if not everything that will be on it.

Hi Martin,
I haven't listened much to his adult voice -- I'm still more transfixed on his younger voice -- due to my lack of experience with the genre it's unlike anything I've ever heard before. Goodness me, I love the internet!!
