Hi All I love to listen to Hayley on my ipod in bed with the lights down and also when I'm out riding my bike in the early morning at weekends, the fresh air of the country, the early morning sun and Hayley playing in my ears..bliss! Hi Andy and everyone, That sounds really lovely! No way I could do that in Singapore though. Pretty much nowhere's silent here I like to listen to Hayley in my bedroom with my speakers. My dad and I saved some old huge Kenwood speakers from being thrown away and he helped me hook them up to an amplifier? Or something like that. I connect my ipod to that. Haha those plus the small size of my room makes any music I play sound pristine and clear, what more if it's Hayley's voice! I'll tell myself, "okay, I must sleep after the next song" but sometimes I just can't bear to switch it off; I see many of you can relate to that haha. Travelling on a bus or train is bad though, because there's a LOT of ambient noise and even my supposedly noise-cancelling earphones can't do much. I try to take care of my ears so sometimes I just forego Hayley's music/any music cos I'd rather not share her voice with the ambient noise. cheers, Joanne

Yeah, there's no way to set the volume at the level they recommend and still hear the music, unless you're in a very quiet room. And the sound on my mp3 player can't always handle Hayley's voice; the other day they completely warped parts of Summer Rain, the "you're my summer rain" parts. Where it should've sounded gorgeous it sounded really squawky and gravelly. I thought maybe it was because my player wasn't fully charged. But all the other songs were fine. I rarely have problems with it, though. I did have to replace the player the earphones originally came with though.

I listen to Hayley at night too. She helps me fall asleep, which is not an easy thing to do.

Like so many other I listen to Hayley at night before I go to sleep, lights off. But I also listen to her after I get off work and I'm just relaxing infront of the computer. iPod is usually how I listen to her but I've also loaded all of my Hayley albums on the itunes at work. So now everyone is listening to Hayley even if they don't realize it. So technically then....I'm listening to Hayley all day long....sort of, the itunes at work is set to shuffle so it's not totally Hayley.

My iTunes is always on shuffle as well, though Hayley tracks do play quite frequently as from my 493 songs playlist, 18.86% are Hayley songs, LOL.

Haha those plus the small size of my room makes any music I play sound pristine and clear, what more if it's Hayley's voice! cheers, Joanne I'm a bit slow responding to this one Joanne, but it is true people seem to know the price of everything and not the value of something. I love that you rescued the old Kenwood speakers, speakers are a bit like people, the more experience they have the better they get. Speakers need years to get cosy and comfortable, The three sets of speakers I use most are all over thirty years old. The cones and spiders become much more compliant / flexible with age, If they are not overdriven there is no reason they will not last another few decades. One of the exceptions to this rule are speakers with a foam surround on the cone, these can just disintegrate into dust with time, most unfortunate. Most of my Hayley listening is done in comfort, lights out is good too, through speakers of one sort or another, usually with a heafty amplifier, at levels between 80 and 100db. Hayley can push the outer limits of some tweeters or horn units though. I find the in-ear rubber type earphones cause pain eventually, so I only use them on planes or when I am working up ladders. I occasionally use a set of Goldring headphones which can be used at a decent level without distortion. I find listening to music at a laptop or a computer to be the worst way to listen, alright for a preview of something, but no way to listen to music properly. Must go and put some more coal on that amplifier now P.S. some time later My other favourite places are the car and the bathroom. I love long journeys alone in the car, I have a fairly respectable Pioneer cd player in the car. I can press repeat on Majesty as often as I like without getting an earful, (I know some of you will find this hard to believe, but I suspect there are actually some people out there who don't like listening to Hayley, their problem, not mine. ) Conveniently our house is very near one of the few places that was bombed in Dublin during WW ll so there is a fair bit of cracked plaster in it still. I told the kids not to be bangin' those doors. Anyway much to their surprise the ceiling in the bathroom came down with a crash after a door slamming event.. Every cloud has a silver lining, especially the ones that could now be seen out through the missing ceiling, under the edge of the eaves It gave me an opportunity to build speaker cabinets from solid pvc sheeting into the recesses of the timber work in the roof over the bathroom, Where else can you get a few hours of real peace. I fitted them with some Blaupunkt car speakers, as they are quite resistant to vapour and moisture. This lot is powered from a 5 disc player in the bedroom, ( Must fit a volume control in the bathroom someday, amazing the difference in the sound levels on different cds ) so it's a great place to listen to new albums undisturbed, lots of bubble bath and a bottle of wine or a few beers. "What more could you ask for ?" I sez to herself. "You could fit a sink to replace the one you took out twenty five years ago" she sez, "Ah sure, what would ye want with a sink in a bathroom when ye have speakers in it" ouch !

I always listen to Hayley when I read. It's like Hayey is singing a soundtrack for my book!
