That looks like an interesting concert -- from what I can gather, it will be held in a large tent because of the renovations that are being undertaken on the theatre. Something different! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Richard,
Thanks as I said I have booked tickets for myself and Irene. It's good to have it confirmed. I hope now they will get going with the publicity. I was in the ticket office yesterday but there were not any flyers in the racks for Hayley although most of the other shows were advertised. I have only seen the one advert so far and that was in a freebie newspaper you pick up in the supermarkets.
If anyone is interested there are plenty of good seats to be had.
Regards
Jim.

Hi Jillian Yes you and I would call it a tent. The Theatre Tent Company who are providing the tent prefer to call it a 'tensile structure'. Below is an image taken from the Marlow's website. They boast that the facilities, seats heating toilets etc., are better than those in the old theatre were. We will have to see. They also say that it will take only 2 days to erect. They have not started yet!! It is due to open in mid November. I first went to The Marlowe around 1957 to see A Midsummer Nights Dream. That was in the first building to have that name. The second Marlowe closed in May this year and the third is due to open in two years time Regards Jim

Hello Jim and anybody else who goes to this concert! Mind you don't lurk too suspiciously inside the arena, or you might be arrested for loitering within tent! Richard

I wish she would come to my Kent, too. I think I need to go to Kent in England sometime to see what it's like compared to the one here. There's a Kent in Ohio, too.

HiLibby,
Kent in England is a beatiful county. White cliffs, Oast houses, Hops, chalk hills and an wonderful WW2 heritage. I'm sure you would enjoy it. And Ihave only been a visitor. If you ever come to England, I'm sure you will be among friends. That is the wonderful thing about HWI, you have friends all over the world, just as Hayley does. I would love to meet you someday.

Hi Libby.
'The garden of England' is Kent. There's your answer! Oast houses, hops and orchards, so come in May, or September for the fruit gathering.

Hopefully, I can come when Hayley's there, but of course it won't work out this time. What's an oast house?

I am surprised at the name you still use for large 'Tents' as you call them. Here in New Zealand, we refer to any 'tent' type structure bigger than 12 or 14 feet square as a “Marquee” pronounced Ma Key. As I remember it when I was young, the 'tent' at a circus used to be known as the “Big Top” You don't (here in NZ) here that description mentioned these days it is normally known as the Marquee. check out this site for more details:- www.thegreatmarqueecompany.co.nz/index02.htmlFor a bigger variety just Google Marquee and choose the links. If the weather is right and the heating is good,a great night can be had in a Marquee, believe it don't be put off because of it,enjoy, cheers, Rodders
