Always a bit sad to reply to one's own post but Camilla was on Aled Jones' show on Radio 2 on Sunday. (iplayer after about 2hrs 20 mins). Yet again her second album release has been put back AGAIN to March 21st. Maybe they are trying to avoid clashing with Hayley ? If avoiding direct competition with Hayley is what they're trying to do, then they're going the wrong direction, since March will be close to the approximate timeframe most people think Hayley's new Album will be released. Unless they have insiders telling them that Hayley's new Album will be released very soon or delayed yet again until mid 2011.

Hayley says her album release is on schedule, and I don't think there is any reason to doubt that she knows what she is talking about. What we don't know of course is what that schedule is...
But a couple of weeks before Mothering Sunday is always a good time to release a CC album. Perhaps that is the thinking (but I don't know).

Hello everybody! This thread is going off-topic (Camilla Kerslake). Please discuss Hayley's new album in an appropriate thread on this sub-board. Many thanks, Richard

amazon.co.uk says that her album will be released March 7, and amazon.com says that it will be released March 29. Any idea which it will be?

21st of March in the UK, I think. 7th March has never been the date. But Amazon dates are never to relied on anyway. x

Hi all, Here's a new interview from yesterday I think featuring Camilla discussing her new album (out Monday 21st March) she discusses her new album, Gary Barlow and how honoured she is to be compared to artists such as Hayley.. I can't wait to get this album but it could be a while as i am so busy at the moment that I can't get to the shops..and im not allowed to by stuff online :/ ..i especially love the sound of El Corazon though.. www.channel5.com/shows/ok-tv-2/clips/camilla-kerslake-ok-tv-interviewbest wishes Sing

Surprised to find that the press launch I attended is actually going to be on TV!
See what I saw on Sunday, 10am on channel 5! Her rendition of This Woman's Work was very emotive!

Bought "Moments" yesterday and once you get over the shock of how different it is to her debut album (in many ways the perfect classical-crossover album, the kind I hoped Hayley would make) some of the tracks are quite appealing. Cam says her second album breaks new ground and it certainly does that. It's much more towards the pop end of the spectrum but I do like Sleepsong, Restless Warrior, Let go and Bring him home. But for personal reasons, the standout track has to be the final one. Only yesterday a nurse extolled the virtues of euthanasia to me so while I'm on the plane to Switzerland with my mum, I'll have the headphones on, listening to Who wants to live forever.

I won't do so here, you know how upset some people get when we talk about singers other than Hayley .

Surely any honour coming from being compared to Hayley must depend on how favourablre a comparison that is. I'm tempted to buy this album, I like what I've heard so far, but not yet.

Martin, may I respectfully suggest you will probably enjoy Camilla's first album a lot more because it's more like the repertoire we're used to with Hayley. For me Cavatina is worth the price of the album on its own.

Hi Jeff,
I'm intrigued by the new album too - the bits I've heard sound interesting and there a couple of songs I know from Anuna too - I think Camilla would sing them well. I'm tempted to pick up a copy when I get back to the UK and have time to listen to it properly. I think the second one is probably more like Sarah Brigtman than Hayley - but by all means shoot me down, since i havn;t heard most of it yey.

Hi Martin.
I'm SO glad she didn't do Ave Maria, Amazing Grace, Time to say goodbye etc on her second album because EVERYONE does those, don't they ?!
I don't know if this is any help but I give the "Moments" album 8/10. I gave her debut album 10/10 (same as "Pure " but then I'm biased !)

Whatever the merits of Camilla's first album (and I do prefer it to her new one) I've no doubt Hayley's new album will outclass "Moments" if the photos are anything to go by. If Hayley had never been born I could quite happily listen to Camilla. As it is, it's a bit like driving a Ford Focus. You're quite happy with your Ford, it seems to be good value for money until one day someone gives you a lift in a Rolls-Royce and you realise what you've been missing for the last two years (or four years if you count "Treasure"!) After that your Ford never seems quite the same. Not that I wish to imply Camilla is an old banger, you understand !! I suspect the tracks on Camilla's first album were selected for her whereas on the new one she picks her own material. I can easily imagine several of the songs being sung by Cheryl Cole. Camilla used to be in a girl band and by going down the pop route with "Moments" I wonder if she is reverting to type ? A photoshoot in the News of the World and her announcement on Twitter that she has landed a modelling contract does not allay my fears that her first album may be the one and only classical-crossover album that we will ever hear from Camilla and that would be a pity since her voice is tailor-made for it. Clearly Hayley has nothing to fear from Camilla. Cheryl Cole and Katie Price on the other hand probably do.

I bought 'Moments' yesterday and I have to say I think I prefer her first album..I like several of the tracks but I think it is a bit too poppy for her...I particularly like El Corazon..overall it's good but I think it could have been better... I think I'll have another listen ..see if my opinion changes.. best wishes Sing
