Hmm, it just occured to me that if Hayley is still in Taiwan, she tweeted that photo at 1:32 AM. Must've been a good party! -Rory

Hayley is a night owl, like an awful lot of musicians. And probably still jetlagged.

You're correct, Libby! Taiwan, Singapore and China are all eight hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time, but the UK is currently observing British Summer Time, which makes the time difference seven hours. Richard

It took a lot of brain strain on my part to come up with the right answer, but I had the World clock website to help out. LOL So when do Asia and NZ/Austr. change to "summer time", or do they at all?

In Australia some bits do and some bits don't. So for example, Queensland time can be different to NSW time. You have to know which you are using.

Hi Libby, I noticed that we had a guest in Taiwan visit the forum at 6:28pm London time yesterday (10th). There is, of course, no way of knowing who that was. Cheers, Dave

How is that location tracked, Dave? I mean if Hayley visited from her laptop or other mobile device, would it still come up showing her in Taiwan? Perhaps it's by the internet connection?

So when do Asia and NZ/Austr. change to "summer time", or do they at all? Hello Libby! Nowhere in the Far East observes Daylight Saving Time. The map on this page shows at a glance which countries do: www.worldtimezone.com/daylight.htmlAn interesting case is Iceland, which observes Greenwich Mean Time all year round. The country is so far west that it should be an hour behind GMT, so it effectively observes DST all year. Richard

There are some exceptions of course, and within Countries, they are becoming increasingly less accurate. My own IP address currently resolves to over 50 miles away from where I am, and things can get much worse than that, even for fixed lines. Cheers, Dave

Ah ok. I figured it was IP address related, but I often forget whether that applies to the Internet service, the device itself, or both.

Well, I think it's entirely possible that the guest from Taiwan was Hayley! She wouldn't log in unless she was going to reply or something, and who knows, she might not remember her password after all these years!

Funny she tweeted about the earth, but posted a pic of the sky. LOL I guess she doesn't want us to know where on "earth" she is... Still Asia, I wonder?
