Wow and Wow!! Congrats for Hayley!! And hopefully this time we get a record like for real. She can now put Hushabye to good use. Well there had to be a reason for Hushabye and now we know!  I see one or two well known names replying to the Instagram  - oh and congratulations to Hayley! PS: It's the same bunny as my cute little granddaughter has. I should think she could give the baby a live performance, why bother putting on the CD when you're sitting right there? The baby won't care if it's not auto-tuned. LOL Based on the style of the outfit, I'm guessing the baby is a girl. And maybe it's just me, but bunnies seem like girl toys. Bears and dogs are what I would be inclined to give a boy... not that I ever plan on it. |

I'm sure she will still sing to the baby herself once in a while. I have a feeling she's been waiting a long time for this sort of thing. Two divorces may have left her in some despair that it would never happen. She likely won't be taking anything for granted. To some of those old-fashioned folks among us, it's not impossible for a woman to have kids and a career. There are such things as nannies, you know, celebrities use them all the time. But yes, I'm sure all of this will slow any potential album quite a bit. But I'd already started resigning myself to never hearing a note from Hayley again, and I can't say that this post elevated my hopes for one. However, it is nice to have some idea what's going on in her life. And I still would like to see at least one picture of her child. |

My daughter kept on working almost throughout her most recent pregnancy and baby's infancy, by working more from home (on reduced hours) and sharing the load with hubby. And a little help from her parents!  Hayley's usual line of work should provide even more opportunities to do that, if as we hope that's what she chooses to continue with. |

Oh, and aside from nannies, there are also grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins! And I'm talking about the baby's grandparents, aunt, and uncle, of course! I'm not going to pretend like I know how easy/hard it is to have a job and a baby, but I see people doing it all the time. And as you say, Dave, as long as Hayley's not touring the entire world, and I'm pretty sure she's not, probably not ever again (sorry, folks), this should not be a problem whatsoever for her. I know of a singer, Rebecca St James, who I've mentioned here before, who has 3 kids, including a 2 year old, and she's touring the US... not quite as extensively as major, Grammy-nominated celebrities (she did win a Grammy once, though), or anything, but, then again, we're lucky if Hayley even tours New Zealand at this point. |

I am a big admirer and fan of mezzo soprano Laura Wright (formerly of All Angels). I went to see her perform at St. Albans Cathedral last month twelve days after giving birth to her second child. Admittedly, her Mum was with her to look after baby whilst she sang but anything is possible!  Incidentally, when babies arrive the mother usually likes her own mum to be around and help for a while so I wonder if Hayley will be going back to Christchurch, if not there already. |
