I can understand Hayley wanting to spend less time on social networks. Sadly, it's so easy to unwittingly have negative interactions on those platforms. You log on to have a quick scroll and before you know it, you've seen something upsetting or inflammatory and it makes you feel bad. In fact, the platforms actually aim to do that, as it increases your engagement.
A work around that some public figures do is to have an instagram account for business that follows no one, so they solely go on to upload content and that's it. (Although it doesn't stop everything - there's still comments and messages that can cause troubles).
Anyway, I think we all live in hope that Hayley will stage a comeback one of these days, so hopefully she doesn't take a break for too long!

Yes, it is understandable, but after years of her going on hiatus on an almost regular basis, this is hardly news, but I suppose it was nice of her to warn us this time. LOL

Just before Xmas is a strange time to come off social media and of course it means there is no prospect of any new music being shared now let alone the longed for new album ! Something Hayley said at the Bic Runga gig has stuck in my mind. Just before singing Hayley said "Not scary at all." She was joking I think but the longer she withdraws from the limelight, the harder it will be for her to get back. |

Well, it is fairly normal for her to go all December without posting anything until or after Christmas/New Year's. So, I'm going to predict there will be no post until then, at least. I have pretty much ceased to even think of a new album from her... even when she does post something music-related, I tend to be extremely skeptical that there's actually progress towards the album that we can actually see. Of course, we must remember that the lockdowns and other restrictions down that way have made life a bit difficult. Not that I really think anything would have happened if there wasn't. Okay, well, if there had been none of this pandemic stuff whatsoever... MAYBE there would be something. But even in that case, I have doubts. Well, maybe next year! |

Well, I know she was using instagram today (well, probably tomorrow in NZ), because she liked Natalie Holt's post for Mothering Sunday. I've been paying attention to this, so I know this is the first time she's liked one of Natalie's posts in months... well, at least when I viewed it in my feed. Maybe we'll finally get a post around her birthday? She'll be 35!  |

The name on the account is “Victoria 🧘🏻♀️“ with the IG handle vcitoraitaij8i24. A prominent forum member here has indeed received a message on Instagram stating “you have such a profound impact on Hayley Westenra career with your comments, love and support.” She “wants you to write to her in person”. “My name is Grace and I happened to be her personal online manager.” The poor grammar along with the confidence tricks point to a spammer. I’m very Hayley Nostalgic right now. I was browsing YouTube and ran across Hayley’s New Zealand concert from 2004. I’ve seen her perform May It Be from that concert before but never the whole thing. The whole concert was so awesome. Her voice so clear and beautiful. I STILL haven’t given up hope that she will return from her Instagram/YouTube “break” (as she called it several months ago). I’ll settle for more songs from her in any format, like her bedroom! Here’s Hoping! Anyone with me? Still hoping?
