Several ways you could interpret that quote. One is that you should kill off any spirituality you may have and become little more than a machine. That is a terrible thing, that can involve mental (or spiritual) illness. Or that you shouldn't care about morality. Another is the opposite, the Christian idea of being dead to sin in Christ, and free to act according to your God created spirit, free from the burden of sin. Take your pick!

Well, it's a Buddhist quote, not a Christian one, so ... not likely Christian.

She seems to have taken the video down from her regular posts. So she's back to 17 posts again. I'd rather she remove the story and leave the video post, because the story will be gone on its own soon enough! It's up on her Facebook page, though. One second... [facebook url="https://www.facebook.com/hayleywestenra/posts/411557763664440?__cft__[0]=AZWBqDFHedMOr0fpa6oIHlyOPOTn3xvp6NrjSAaEnP5n1GNYAK-gRrSsGJer_e41fpPY7ozT1P_XSWI2gkqBTAooNFamuuegAy8R6GKkq_Z13pCDT4HYNo0W2XSDUkM9vsRu4cddPyGoqq9Ui23wPltPF0e24ThLjK1t0m95ztnGTA&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R"] Okay, it seems I no longer know how to embed Facebook posts.... It's great to see a new video from her, but a new song would have been better... plus, I'm sorry, but it's not the quality from River of Dreams or her performances in concert years ago. A bit nasal. And why she seems to have felt the need to delete most of her posts is beyond me... well, maybe something along the lines of her last post, where cutting her hair was a "sacred release" for her. Is this along those lines too? I noticed her following list went way down, as well.

The video is still on Instagram, you have to look under the Reels tab.
Also, you have to remember her recording of Songbird was over 10 years ago. The voice matures. I personally don’t think she sounds very nasally. Her sound is more focused and on point.

I love this recording of Songbird, heartfelt understanding of the lyrics and beautiful fragile performance, best played through external speakers or headphones for full effect.
Yesterday when it was posted there was another version, full length with old fashioned film effect used on it, the top of Hayley's face was cropped away as well and possibly from a slightly different angle which would imply it was possibly recorded on two devices at the same time. There was a different set of comments on the "Old film" version, which has disappeared along with the comments.

Hi All,
It’s so great to hear Hayley’s new rendition of this classic song, isn’t it?
For you, there'll be no more crying For you, the sun will be shining And I feel that when I'm with you It's alright, I know it's right
To you, I'll give the world To you, I'll never be cold 'Cause I feel that when I'm with you It's alright, I know it's right
And the songbirds are singing, Like they know the score And I love you, I love you, I love you Like never before
And I wish you all the love in the world But most of all, I wish it from myself And the songbirds keep singing Like they know the score
And I love you, I love you, I love you Like never before, like never before, Like never before

I agree, there is a heartfelt understanding of the lyrics, as you say, that wasn’t necessarily present before. Not that it wasn’t heartfelt previously, but as one matures some songs resonate deeper or differently than they did in youth.

Oh, I found it, but it's too bad it isn't more obvious. Her other videos, The A Side and Jolene, are still in the regular section, so not sure why that one couldn't stay, as well. Upon listening again, I enjoyed it much more. I do agree it was very heart felt, and she certainly still hit many very lovely notes. It's just certain spots that are more thin and just a bit nasal in comparison to her "old voice". She sounds a bit more "countryish", I guess you could say. Also, she sang certain parts differently than her original version... I think maybe that's possibly more like the Eva Cassidy version, although I never listen to that, so I wouldn't know, but that's my guess. That said, her A Side song was not thin and nasal anywhere, the whole thing was strong and gorgeous. So, I'm much more positive about the song than I was the other day. But I still say a new song would still be nice.

Part of that sentence doesn't make complete sense to me. She's feeling pastel? Or pastel fresh out of the oven? Can someone translate again? LOL
She was very chatty with the fans who responded to her post, mostly about how they're doing, where they're from, etc. One fan in particular posted about how much her music has meant to him over the years. I didn't respond because I couldn't think of anything interesting to say, and her post was already 4 hours old, and she typically only responds when people comment very soon after she's posted.

I presume a pastel humour is relaxed and happy as opposed to the blues or blacks.
