I never noticed the color of the wall, and also it's kind of a dark photo aside from the window, so the exact color isn't immediately clear to me. Maybe that is the reason, but Joe's other thought is certainly plausible with Hayley's interests these days.
A diary, or a planner? A diary to me is more like a journal. I.e, "Dear Diary, today was just as uneventful as yesterday, and tomorrow will likely be the same". LOL that would be my diary entry, if I had one. A planner is what we use to write down schedules, appointments, and other important dates. However, those have proved useless this year for most people. I have seen several times on social media the meme saying how everyone's biggest waste of money this year was a 2020 planner. I sincerely hope 2021 proves to be at least somewhat less disappointing and exasperating.

I think the UK and Commonwealth usage of “diary” is what I would call an appointment-planning calendar book. A British doctor may refer to “next Monday’s diary” when scheduling a patient. But it is probably waning to the American usage. My thought of the word “diary” is that of a teenager penning the day’s emotions and thoughts. Hayley had the diary opened (from what I could tell) to the current day, so perhaps she was writing down her thoughts. A new story from Hayley’s time at the beach!

One of the joys of the English language is its potential for ambiguity In the UK, the word "diary" carries both of those meanings. For me, my diary is the little book where I write down my appointments, concert dates, meetings etc. Diary in the sense of a journal is also a legitimate usage here, but probably a little less common. You can usually tell the difference from the context in which the word is used. Of course, the same book can be used for both purposes if there is enough space to write. To me, a planner is either something electronic, or a big chart which you stick on the wall.

Thanks very much John for clarifying that for me! Hayley is just off to the shops!

Maybe she's looking for some new spring fashions. Oh, and, since we know she can drive now, does she have her own car, or does she just drive her mum's car? LOL

Hmm, well, the word "shops" has me thinking it's going to be clothes rather than cars. LOL but I guess you never know.

I think Hayley wore this same top underneath her black jacket (which I don't believe is real leather, thankfully). And here is that gorgeous new story... I think Hayley also appears in the last story posted by @artsfoundationnz. When they pan to the left towards the tables, I think she is on the right end of one of the tables, the one towards the middle of the area shown. Whoever it was is wearing a black jacket and has similar hair, so I think it's probably her.

Yes, it is the same top from the October 2019 story! And yes that was Hayley in that other story Delaney (at her left) had taken his jacket off.

some nice two way communications on Instagram.Very welcome. YES! These ones in particular! I think we know one of them. The response to the first question is an emoji of a girl holding her hand up in a non-committal gesture... I think that's just about everyone's future right now. Will we able to do this, or will we be able to do that? Will they hold the Olympics, will kids go back to school, etc, etc. But, at least the answer to the second question is a little more definite! Some other interesting comments too! Someone said something about "being serenaded to the car by you and Delaney". I wonder what they sang?
