Thanks Libby. I still reckon that letting the ".com" domain of her name go was a mistake, though. Seen it Devotedfan, thanks. Didn't spot the "reply". Not good at this social media stuff I can't fathom who else would want to use it unless they're trying to be an imposter. New fan-run sites are not likely to emerge at this stage of her career (or lack thereof). Is it not possible for her to get it back? Ever, at all?

Looneys, weirdoes, spoilers, jealous spoilers, pervs, people with an eye on making a few quid, to list but a few. Take your pick. They're all out there. I think that there's a slang name for people who gather up domain names hoping to sell them to a likely user at a price. I don't know what it is, though. Anyone? My guess is that the latter is the most likely. That's why there were auto-bidders. A public figure or legal entity's name as a domain has value. The bigger the name, the higher the value. In the overall scheme of things, Hayley is small beer, yet her name domain went for a four figure sum. Extrapolate from "crissyt.com" via "hayleywestenra.com" to "therollingstones.com", "madona.com", and "cocacola.com" ….. you get the idea. Yes, Hayley can get it back. All she has to do is agree a price with the new owner. GoDaddy offered to broker such a deal if you recall. Part of the GoDaddy standard MO, I assume. Of course that assumes that she wants it back. The evidence points to her no longer wanting it which is why she let it go. In her shoes, even if I knew I'd never want it again, for the price of keeping it (few quid a month), I'd have hung on to it purely to prevent nefarious 3rd party use which could be damaging and/or distressing. And now, after a brief flurry, I suspect we return to the not-so-new normal of "no news is …". Go on, Hayley, prove me wrong! I know you read our witterings, so throw us some scraps and post something benign, say once a week. It'll give us something to chew on instead of speculating, it won't upset the PR thought police, and it'll keep Libby smiling.

Well there are over a dozen hayleywestenra.whatever domains available to Hayley (e.g. hayleywestenra.net) if she wants one, costing $5 to $40 so it's not really a problem for her if she wants to resume website activities in the future. More fool whoever paid over $1,000 for it, I say - it's probably money down the drain (unless it was done on behalf of Hayley for some inexplicable reason).
Godaddy said it will take up to 12 days for the domain to become active so without evidence that it was done for or by Hayley herself, we'll remove it from our links by then.

I thought that, too, Martin, especially as several of us have posted on the subject elsewhere on the Forum. Standing by, but not holding breath …
Dave, your point on other "hayleywestenra" domains is valid. However, the ".com" is always the leading domain and the one people try first and think of first. I believe that's why it is perceived to have greater value. If someone's paid over $1k in the hope of a killing, then I agree that they may be unlucky.

Hayley is back in Christchurch according to her insta story. Also of note, she is not following Chris on Instagram. I can’t remember if she was in the past.

Looking at her Instagram, I feel like she's deleted more photos 🤔

The last few posts on here sparked a thought with me regarding the continuing trend of recent months.
I've just taken a canter back through this thread to late March of this year. Having re-visited the things that we've all been saying and reviewed the SM material posted by Hayley and her various associates, I was more than a little startled to realise how clear the trend actually is. It's not good. Summary: • continuing non-appearance of the much mooted album. Why? I have some theories, the strongest of which links to the items below. • #2 drops off "the grid", not to reappear to date. Game over? • H sharing house in LA and spending time with others. Unusual behaviour considering last September. • H perilously thin. • H drops off "the grid". • Shared house dissolves. • website lost. • H reappears in Auckland. • H moves to Hometown. To misquote Oscar Wilde form "The Importance of Being Earnest", "To lose a ****** may be regarded as a misfortune.". The crash site is now in sight, fire look likely, and the craft is looking increasingly to be beyond assistance. A previously unannounced landing at the "last chance saloon" may be the last hope of salvation before oblivion. I am saddened.

Hayley is back in Christchurch according to her insta story. Also of note, she is not following Chris on Instagram. I can’t remember if she was in the past. Unfortunately, you appear to be right. And yes, of course, she started following him before she ever let us know about him (and when she did, I was wondering if he was a new bf). To be sure, I clicked on the list of people it shows me whom I "know" who are also following him, and she would always appear near the top. Now she appears nowhere. He has 223 followers, so I actually didn't scroll through the whole list. But once you get below the fellow Hayley fans, everyone else is unknown to me, and goes on "forever" with the same. Also, get this... No Stan, his (former?) good friend, appears on the list, either! And... no Jason Lowrie, either. No individuals from barefoot, except perhaps Matt Musty. We already knew Hayley & Rodney (is there any point in the code names anymore?) stopped following each other, and he's not following Chris either, though I can't recall if he ever was. But Chris is still following her (though he doesn't seem to be on there much). Actually, all of their fellow acquaintances are still following Hayley, although, I did not see Jason listed (she has thousands of followers, but again, if he doesn't appear in the fellow followers list, then he's most likely not there). That is very interesting considering Jason seemed to play a significant role on the album. Andy Baldwin still follows both, but he also doesn't use it much. She may have deleted more photos and stories, but this time I did not try to determine which ones they were beyond the top few lines (I've already done lots of complicated digging just now, LOL). However, I did notice that some still remain that you would think wouldn't anymore, if our suspicions are true. Because "certain people" still appear in the same one I mentioned the last time this was brought up, as well as in her featured stories regarding the album. The fact that those stories still remain could be a clue that it's not actually goodbye forever (to us)?? I guess we'll see; those might end up disappearing, as well). Crissy, that last bit below the Oscar Wilde quote is somewhat lost on me, but I guess I get what you're trying to say. Well, whatever happens, I do hope this is not the last we ever hear of Hayley and her beautiful music. Loreena McKennit once went 10 years without one after her husband's death (am I right?). It's already been 7 years - this month, in fact! - since Hushabye. So if the album she's been working on all this time is thrown out, I have to wonder if she will beat that record. Pun not intended. LOL

Oh, forgot to mention. That hashtag.... #honeyimhome.
When I saw it, I wondered if it means more than just coming home for a visit.

I don’t know what I think. Her instagram post gave me hope that maybe she’s gone home to be with her family for support and rest and will eventually get back in action, possibly. In any case it was good to see her. Time, although it’s been a LONG time already, will tell I guess. . .

In Hayley's case these days, I'm not sure time ever does clearly tell us much of anything. LOL
Oh. Hayley is no longer following Stan, but he is still following her. No clue what that means. LOL

She seems to be severing all SM links to the LA crowd. I think it's significant. If, as I suspect, she's bailed out of LA, heading "home" to Christchurch makes sense because where else would she go? The London connection is probably well cold and she probably sold her house in West London.
I liked the photos she posted earlier of her with Vera Lynn. Reminiscent of happier and healthier times.
Libby, the Oscar Wilde quote is actually: “To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune.”.
