DSL hayley driving? oh god, im sure she'll be good at it. parrellel parking is a mystery to me [yes, i can do it, or could]. congratulations to her for her achievement, its the other drivers i dont trust |

Great news to hear that Hayley is driving - must be lovely to learn in NZ where I have heard there isnt so much traffic as we have here in the UK. Well done on your parallel parking Hayley - keep up the good work.

Er.. hold on a minute.. This is her first lesson. There is much to learn. I always felt driving was something Hayley wanted to do, she just never had the time to learn properly. Perhaps now she can, but doing it in London would be a baptism of fire. And if you live in London a car is a liability, with the congestion charge and parking costs. It has been like that for at least half a century.
And since London has good public transport, there is no point.
The only thing that she needs to remember is that in Aus and NZ, most cars have auto gearboxes. In the UK most are manual. In the UK, if you pass your test in an automatic, you will not be licenced to drive a manual gearbox car. I have a Bangladeshi friend whose wife has that problem, so he always has to be careful to buy cars with auto gearboxes.
Now, what sort of gearbox does that tour bus have???

Well, I think it is unlikely that she would have tweeted about her driving lesson today at 1am...
So, much more likely is 1pm, which would mean she is still in NZ.
We could ask her of course!
