While watching some of his videos from the Valentine's tour again, I noticed a newer one, of Andy singing and playing guitar. It's a song about climate change in support of the UNFCCC. I saw some of your comments there, too. It's nice how he responds to people's comments. Watch here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0-HL1Aq_8U&feature=channelHe's not such a bad singer himself. It might be nice if Hayley would have him do a solo at her concerts, like Raven , if he does anymore concerts with her. Is he? I know Raven is supposed to be with her at some upcoming concerts, but it doesn't say whether he'll be there or not. Hayley's interested in global warming/climate change, too (I don't really buy it, although I am interested in wildlife and the environment).

Yes, I'm sure I would like to see that. I am a climate change sceptic too, like many engineers. For us the science has to be robust, or people die. So we will only beleive the climate models when they succeed in predicting something correctly. So far they have failed miserably, and in fact applying them retrospectively I read today to the increase in man's CO2 output during that period, global temperatures should have increased by 16 degrees C between 1942 and 1975. In fact, the planet cooled during that period. And it is cooling again now. I expect the new ice age fearmongers will appear again soon!

Yeah, a lot of the places they measure temperature are in hot, reflected sun in suburban areas, or right next to building vents. A cold spring last year was enough to convince me that a cooling is far more likely. I think it's just the world governments fooling us into supporting all these "environmentally-friendly" products, because they're inevitably going to be more expensive, no matter what they claim. I've heard in England the mercury-filled light bulbs are mandatory, and that it will happen in the U.S., someday, too. Yeah, lots of these bulbs in the landfills is a great way to save the envrironment! And if one breaks in your house, and your kids and pets play on the floor?!... Is it really worth risking our health to "save the environment"? Okay, I don't want to detract away from Andy's actual musicality too much. Part of my interest in this is that I've read on his site that he sings, so I've been wondering what he sounds like. BTW, his website is www.ajmooremusic.com

Hi Libby,
Compact Flourescents are not quite mandatory here yet, but you can no longer buy certain sizes of tungsten bulbs. Personlly I would go for LED technology rather than CFTs, much more efficient and long lasting. Although a bit pricey at present I can see things moving that way in my professional capacity of Airfield Grond Lighting. The problem is they can't yet make LED bulbs bright enough for approach and runway lighting, they are OK for taxiways. But I have them in my motorhome and they are fine.
As for climate change, it is a very serious danger for mankind. The danger is that our idiot politicians will destroy the economies of the western world, and condemn the developing world to further generations of poverty and poor life expectancy in a futile attempt to fight something that isn't happening, and that they couldn't affect even it it was. Of course they will use it to increase their power and the taxes we all pay. So perhaps they are not idiots, just people who are prepared to inflict untold pain on ordinary people for their own advancement.
Sorry mods, this is wildly off topic.

"Controlling Climate Change" is all about the "Controlling" and nothing about the "Climate Change". Bill

But that's my fault. I suppose I shouldn't have added my opinion on "global warming". Oh, well, he probably won't venture down to this board, anyway, if he does come.
