October sees the release of hew new album ‘Don’t Look Down’ in both Welsh and English language versions to coincide with this theatre tour. The live shows will feature old and new songs written or collected by Cerys during her far-reaching travels and will be backed by two of Nashville’s finest young musicians, Kevin Teel and Mason Neely. Cerys hosts her own daily radio show on BBC’s 6 Music and had a busy year in television, including writing and presenting a prime-time BBC2 documentary on Celtic poets, a documentary. As lead singer of the group ‘Catatonia’ she had hit singles like ‘Road Rage’ and ‘Mulder and Scully’ as well as number one albums in the charts. A successful solo career duetting with Tom Jones on the perennial classic ‘Baby It’s cold Outside’ and with Space on ‘The Ballad of Tom Jones’ plus two critically acclaimed solo albums ‘thingy a Hoop’ and ‘Never Said Goodbye’. More recently, Cerys’ song ‘Awyren=Aeroplane’ which won the Eisteddfod award for contemporary song – the first time it had been bestowed in seven years. Hi All Bedlam has a consecutive booking at the Alban Arena in October. Not only do they have Hayley on Saturday 24th October but also Cerys on the night before. See HEREMartin
