I can see Bjorn Borg and Pete Sampras. I think Rod Laver is between them. I'm not sure about the other guy with long hair behind Sampras - Jimmy Connors, maybe?  Trevor McDonald is there, but I don't think he ever won a Wimbledon title  |

Hi Martin, Five champions? You can naht be serious!  Okay, the three in the front row, as IHF suggests, are Pete Sampras, Rod Laver and Bjorn Borg. Behind Sampras is not Jimmy Connors but Ilya Nastase. And above him, I think, could be Maria Bueno? So that is five names but you said there were five former champions. Nastase never won Wimbledon - he was runner-up twice (to Stan Smith in 1972 and to Borg in 1976). So, if I have everything right so far, there is still another champion to find. Mmm, I'm struggling now so I think I will leave it to somebody else! Roger |

This may be cheating, but I remember watching on TV and I'm sure that sitting next to Sampras for a good proportion of the match was Manolo Santana who was the last Spanish player before Nadal to win for about 40 years so is he hiding there somewhere?
I concur with Roger's comment about Maria Bueno, but could that be Ann Jones next to Sir Trevor?
By the way, as this is a Hayley forum has she ever been to Wimbledon to our knowledge? I'm sure I've read somewhere about her siblings playing tennis - I don't recall Hayley herself playing?

Well, Roger got the four champions correct but I have to confess I made a mistake because I thought Nastase had won at some point.  So, there were only four then? Martin ps Out of shot was indeed Ann Jones but also Pat Cash, John McEnroe and Boris Becker. |
