29 Jul 2009 - Battle of Britain Concert

Hayley is delighted and honoured to have been invited to sing with the world renowned Central Band of the Royal Air Force in a special celebratory Battle of Britain concert that will be held at the prestigious Central Hall in Westminster on Saturday 19 September.

The charity event, promoted by the Battle of Britain Historical Society, will pay especial tribute to the 142 brave young Londoners who flew in defence of freedom and democracy in the dark days of 1940.

Edward Fox, one of the stars of the 1969 motion picture 'Battle of Britain', will compère the show, which begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are £45 each and can be obtained by ringing Seetickets on 0871 220 0260 or via their web site at www.seetickets.com/see/index.asp?

There is a transaction fee as well as the booking fee, which makes the total cost £51.10. I suspect Hayley will only sing a few songs, so I'm actually relieved that I have a prior engagement that evening.

Thanks for the hint - but really a bit expensive. In addition it's probably not the appropriate occasion for me coming from a certain country and on the other hand Dudley is just a week later.

You think the concert is expensive? How much are flights from Germany to England?? I would have thought that would be the expensive part of going to Hayley's concerts over there!

I think it will be great having people from your certain country there...then you can show how the relations have improved since them.. anyway, enough on that. I always seem to be in the middle of controversial discussions on the wrong threads!
