Why "Raven"?

I'm sorry, but their band name is really, really annoying. It's so vague that it is not searchable on search engines. I have been listening to their album for the past few hours, and when they scrobble on to last.fm, it looks like I have been listening to a heavy metal band, because there are 10 other artists under the name of 'Raven' and most are metal bands.

It really bugs me when artists choose vague names. How can you find them anywhere? A favourite group of mine recently changed their name to 'Eternity'. How on earth am I suppose to search for them? I once heard a beautiful rendition of 'Nella Fantasia' on Classic FM TV by an artist named Summer. Could I find her? Nope. Could I be bothered to go through thousands of results on amazon to find the album I wanted? Nope. A record sale lost.

Argh. Anyway, I added Raven's pictures on their Last.FM page (http://www.last.fm/music/Raven), but no doubt they will be voted out within minutes by all the metal heads. If you're a last.fm user, a yes vote on their pictures would be appreciated. Not that it matters, because having their album called 'Raven' too brings up mulitple albums, and it looks like I am listening to an 80s dude with a blonde mullet. Meanwhile, I will suggest to the world at large that if they are attached to Raven, they should at least call themselves Raven String Quartet. Please. Almighty God, please.

I might just change their name myself for my own peace of mind. I don't listen to people with mullets from the 80s. No, I do not.

I do like the name 'Raven', but I can see how it might be difficult to find their music.

I had the same problem finding music from the Indie band 'Cast'.

I really like the name 'Raven' too. It's a great name, but I think many others have the same idea!

I ended up just changing my tags for Raven on Last.fm. I now scrobble them under this page: Raven String Quartet

I know I am being a bit pedantic and fiddly about this, but it bothers me! XD They have clearly come across the same problem as they have described themselves as a quartet for their website and their MySpace. Naming yourselves Raven, and then calling your debut album 'Raven' is record sale suicide.
