Hi again everyone

This post is going to focus on the song 'Prayer', which has been requested by Dean.

The first thing to note is that this song is in the key of F minor, which has 4 flats in the key signature.

The chords on this song are, like 'Po Atarau', played as broken chords (arpeggiated). These chords are:

Db major - X-4-6-6-6-4
Eb major - X--6-8-8-6-6
C minor - X-3-5-5-4.3
F minor - X-8-10-10-10-8
Bb minor - X-1-3-3-2-1

Intro - sung 'acapella' (without instrumental accompaniment)

Verses (+ 9 bars before beginning of verse 1) - repeat these chords in order, 2 chords per bar.

Hi Jono,
After giving up the first time trying to figure out the chords by ear, I realized I could just transpose some music I already have. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Not sure why I didn't think of that before! It was in the key of C and I put it down a half step to the key of B, which is what Hayley sings it in I believe (and also sounds great on the guitar!). So really, there are only 3 chords in the song. The trick is knowing when to change chords. So I just stuck the chords directly into the lyrics to make it pretty simple! (note: Carry chords over to the next line and don't change until another one shows up.)

Your version works great as a simple way of playing it, but the version on the video is way more complex...I worked out a couple more chords to add to the ones you worked out...but am completely stumped with the rest.

Do you think that sounds right for the verses? I know there is still a little missing though... And the chorus is way more complex.

It's a great song to play around with strumming styles too...I'm trying to get that "flamenco" sound in there.. But you can also just alternate bass and strum.

Just had a go at Prayer, and it sounds awesome! Thanks for that. Have you played it yet, Dean?

I found a couple of chords you must have typed in wrong though. (They are the right chords, but the diagrams were wrong). Feel free to edit your post if this is right. Fixed below.

Thanks for that - I worked out this song the night before and was quite tired so there was quite some certainty that I would make a couple of mistakes!

I haven't checked this thread in over a week.
Actually, i was thinking of asking someone to do 'Le Notte Del Silenzio'. of all the songs to choose from... i don't know why i thought of it, it seems like a strange song to play guitar to in my opinion but I'm glad you thought of it too. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
I'm a little excited to try what you've posted but my grandpa is repairing my guitar at his shop i guess I could try the piano...

I was thinking you could do 'One Fine Day'. that sounds like an interesting song. one of my favorites from Treasure.
if you had alot of free time I'd like to see a guitar arrangement (or playing guide) for 'Summer Rain' but it's not a priority of mine, really.

Now, for something easier (I think). if anyone has the chords/tabs for 'Shiroi Iro wa Koibito no Iro (White is the color of our love)' from HSJS, I'd be a very happy camper if they would share!
I won't have a problem figuring out the violin/fiddle part -- it's more prominent than the guitar part and I'm more of a violinist than I am a guitarist.

Hi folks

With a lot of hair pulling and frustration, I think I have worked out the chords for 'One Fine Day'. I must point out that this song is an adaption from Puccini's opera 'Madame Butterfly', so there is a lot of contrapuntal movement in the individual parts of the score, making it difficult to pinpoint an exact chord in certain places - I have done my best however!

I have provided sheet music for the opening 4 bars of the guitar part.

Hi Jenny

It wasn't too bad really Some of the chord progressions were a little tricky, and there are a couple of places that I'm not too sure about, but the majority of it is there. Its what you can expect from an opera, afterall!

I am beginning to work out and write up the notation on the piano for 'The Water is Wide'. Shouldn't be too long...
