New Live Hayley Chat

This is not about the chat, but Hayley Online. I was just browsing through the lyrics, and found that some of them come up with nothing but the title, and no lyrics. I went through all of the songs, and so here is the list of songs not coming up. I'm pretty sure the Winter Magic and Paradiso songs were ones I did, so not sure why they're not coming up. I haven't done anything on the site in a few years, probably, and since it's different, I wouldn't know how to contribute anymore. I wonder if it's just an error on the site, or if the lyrics have been deleted somehow? I might have done some of the Japanese songs too, but I don't remember anymore.

As you can see, it appears that EVERY Paradiso lyric, most of Winter Magic, a few from Prayer, and a few Japanese songs, is missing. I did Paradiso and WM as I mentioned, and I'm sure I did Prayer, the duets, and HSJS2. That does not explain the Odyssey, Treasure, and the one song off the Hayley Westenra CD. You Are Water is on Prayer, but I don't see why I would have been the one to add that, since I don't think I did Odyssey. Anyway, I got most of the lyrics from Japanese releases, and I don't have Japanese releases of Odyssey or Treasure (or Pure, but strangely, those songs are all fine).

Another thing I realized is that no Hushabye songs are listed at all. I'd be happy to re-do some and send it to whoever can post them, but not all at once.. though I just did this list all at once. LOL I'm not sure I could bring myself to do the Hushabye songs; I don't want them stuck in my head, but I will if nobody else volunteers. I do have the lyrics from the Japanese album, of course. Strange that we have lyrics for the Star Spangled Banner, which she's never recorded, but no Hushabye songs. Speaking of the SSB, and a few other songs, give a credit to Ferdinand Chevalier. I'm pretty sure he didn't write the SSB (Francis Scott Key did back in 1812, I think!), Dreaming of New Zealand, or whatever else he's credited for. Is he just a lyric contributor? We don't need that information, we want the songwriters/composers.

Well, like you Libby I am supposed to be one of the admins of Hayleyonline. But these days, posting anything there seems such a hit and miss and convoluted process I don't bother anymore, apart from the chat nights. It used to be that we sometimes got scoops on HOL, sometimes picking up things before either HWI or the OF, but not nowadays. There used to be a special "post" button for admins that allowed us to easily add things. But that disappeared in one of the revisions of the site. I think it is only Robert (Spiderman) who posts anything these days, and Matthew, who owns the site, seems to have lost interest. A pity to see so much good work go to waste. Apart from perhaps HWI, we seem very unprepared for the explosion of interest in Hayley that her next album will hopefully cause.

Maybe we should contact Matt and tell him so. I am not good with website creation. Once I learned the process for posting the lyrics pages, I was fine. But that was before he changed it the last time... couple of times, maybe. And I've forgotten it all, anyway. It's just too bad to let the site go, not at least add the newer lyrics, and fix any problems. I think we at least need to get Matt to help us with that sort of thing. Either that, if there's anybody out there good with computers/website creation, and all that, we need you! Isn't Dean good at that sort of thing?

Maybe I should see what happens when I try to log in. I haven't logged in for months, since I haven't had a chat day off in that long. And I won't be at the upcoming chat, either.

I can't even find where to log in (except for the "Ajax chat"), so I guess I'm out for good, other than for potential chats.

Sad to hear that Libby. I still try to support the chat nights at least, but there seem to be less people every month. Perhaps what we need is an appearance from Hayley who I am sure knows about it. She has been there before. The time of the chat is most convenient for UK folk, much more so than for those in other parts. So maybe it needs more support from UK Hayley fans. The next chat is on Friday 12th. And this time I won't be as keen as I usually am to stay up late, since I'm off to Cork the next morning. A 2 hour drive to Stansted Airport, I probably need to leave home around 8am. And hope that my kids can look after Cat and Dog. Anf get Cat's medication right.

Hi Susie,

If you are just logging in you can choose any username you like. Just enter it in the username slot. Even if you don't and just click Login I think you will still get in, but with a number as a username. Then nobody will know who you are, so you might get asked.

I might be there next month, on Hayley's birthday! My first vacation of the year is that week, though the Fri. was not part of the vacation request. It's still quite possible I'll get the day off, though. If I do, my sister and I are thinking about going to Stars on Ice, but that's in the evening. My sister also has that week off; she works at a school, and that's her spring break (which is why I requested that particular week... and because Sunday's Easter). Skating shows are usually in the evening, though, so I might have a little bit of time to chat.

But it's still possible they'll schedule me to work that day. It just depends on how many hours they're willing to give me that particular week!
