I'm not, because I accidentally requested off the wrong day! I'm off today, and not tomorrow. Of course, because I'm not there, Hayley will suddenly decide to join. That's what happened last time I didn't request the chat day off.

Hi Martin D,
I'm 95% sure I'll be there! My sleep cycle's upside down anyway haha. You never know, Libby! Maybe she'll join us next month (too, I hope. Haha)
cheers, Joanne

More likely she'll be on holiday in NZ, and won't bother with us! I wouldn't expect her to. Then hopefully after that, she'll be busy with album promotion.

That's what happened last time I didn't request the chat day off. in order: 1) your manager doesnt let you change the day off? thats not smart thinking... of course some employers dont like giving friday leave. 2) im abit betwixt about hayley joining.... im not sure whether i'd die of happiness or a sudden attack of nerves. it cant be as nerve-wracking talking to her on the other end of a computer can it??. lets all make it a big turnout for the last chat of the year... spiderman

Hi Libby,
I have my own special version of out company's holiday request for, relabelled "Holiday Notification Form" I am simply doing them the courtesy of informing them on which ays I won't be working. If you don't turn up there is not much they can do about it.
These days though I don't think I get paid holiday anyway, since I semi-retired. I just turn up and do a bit when I feel like it, and get paid for what I do. An excellent arrangement.

I'm having a bit of problem with it! Now I can't press enter or submit. Maybe it's my computer. Be back in a bit.

I take it she wasn't there? Spiderman, technically we're supposed to make requests no less than 30 days ahead of time. It used to be the system wouldn't even allow it to go through if you tried it after the 30 day mark, but now it will. As it was, I did it a day "late". By the time I realized I'd messed up, it was too late. They might've let me change, but it's different if it's for a dentist appointment or something. As for holiday time, you have to get it in really early, otherwise they reject it. This is a store where they have sales around this time, and it's extra busy. The only days the store is closed is Christmas and Thanksgiving. Not even New Year's is off. Not that it's ever very busy on New Year's.

Spiderman, technically we're supposed to make requests no less than 30 days ahead of time. thats the sort of thing that makes me feel lucky... in telecom theres technically, and theres reality. i guess its the advantage of not being in customer service.... christmas, yes has to be in advance but ti depends on what business unit you are in. even in my old role we only needed 2-3 people over christmas [/10].... theres always someone who wants to work.... theres always sick leave... we are allowed 2 days without certification. you remind me how fortunate i am. i hope that your family are nearby and having to work doesnt effect christmas for you
