Hi everyone,
Did you know it is possible to bookmark threads in which you have a particular interest? Having done so, the advantages are twofold:
To Bookmark a Thread
Go to the thread in the usual way. Near the top left corner, click ‘bookmark’. Repeat to create further bookmarks, OR
If you are replying, check the box beneath the reply editor before posting.
To View Bookmarked Threads
Go to your Profile and then click ‘Bookmarks’ (to the right of ‘Modify Profile’). A list of all your bookmarked threads will be displayed.
To Receive Automated Notification
From the Bookmarks page (see above), click ‘Manage Bookmarks’ in the top right corner. Select EITHER ‘Personal Message (PM)’ or ‘Email’ as required” in the drop-down menu beside each relevant thread OR select “Personal Message (PM) or Email” as your default setting for all current and future bookmarks below the list of threads. Either way, click on “Update Bookmarks and Preferences” to confirm.
To Remove Bookmarks
There are three ways to remove bookmarks when they are no longer required:
1. Navigate to the thread in the normal way. Click ‘Remove Bookmark’, OR
2. Go to your ‘Manage Bookmarks’ page (from your Profile) and check the box(es) to the left of the thread(s) which you no longer wish to bookmark and confirm by clicking the Update button., OR
3. Follow the link in your email notification for that particular thread the next time you receive one. It takes you directly to the ‘Manage Bookmarks’ page.
I recommend you don’t have too many bookmarked threads at any given time if you have chosen to receive notification of new posts. If you do, and when the forum is busy, you may be inundated with email! Remember, you can always remove selective bookmarks if you wish.
To view a Proboards demonstration, click the Help button and select ‘Member Guide’ and then ‘Bookmarks’. It takes approximately 90 seconds!
If requesting email notification, please ensure your email address for your account is still valid. If you need to change it, you will have to re-activate your account just as you did at the time of registration.
Members who reckon to read ALL new posts probably will not need to use the Bookmark facility. But if time is limited, or if you are only interested in selective threads, you may find it helpful.

Did you know it is possible to bookmark threads in which you have a particular interest? Having done so, the advantages are twofold:
- You are able to view all your bookmarked threads in the form of one continuous Index Page regardless of their true location on the forum. Each thread appears in chronological order of the latest posts with the most recent at the top – just like any other board. Any threads which contain posts made since your last visit will be identified by the ‘New’ icon in the left column – again, just like any other board.
- You can chose to receive notification by PM or email whenever a new post is made to one of your bookmarked threads. The notification will tell you the title of the thread and give a direct link to it.
