Thanks guys! And it's still here, shore leave for most of the crew each day, the Portsmouth pubs all doubled their beer supplies over this weekend (apparently the carrier is "dry")! Here is today's photo, taken from a bit further away (Lee-on-the-Solent) and a different angle - but nearer to my home. The carrier is about 2 miles from where I took the photo. To give an idea of size, I have included the largest Isle of Wight car ferry from Portsmouth, MV St Clare which has just emerged from passing behind the carrier. MV St Clare has a capacity of 186 cars and 878 passengers but is dwarfed by the George H W Bush. Hi Dave
The ship leaves tomorrow (Tuesday). The Admiral in charge of her is a lady.
Cheers Tony

Hi Tony, Well she's gone now and The Solent looks empty! Had a nice sunset this evening though, a few minutes ago, here it is from my garden: Funny how the photos are never as good as the real thing, though. Dave

Not only do we have to contend with continuing aftershocks we woke up to this today i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAnd my street:- It started snowing in Christchurch early last night and hasn't stopped until about 2pm. Most people took the day off work as the roads had up to a foot of snow on them.

Thanks everyone for keeping this thread going, love the photos! I did a bit of sightseeing myself on Thursday, beautiful sunny mild day and I'll leave you to guess where. Just something to pass the time, while we wait for the big event in less than 11 hours time. Eye eye... something's missing! Foolish fingers... but whose? Park pelican paddling A herd of Hayliens? Hello folks! The capsules on the London Eye are currently being refurbished one at a time somewhere in Worcestershire, and each one takes about a month. When the last one is completed, it will replace the temporary dummy frame in Dave's photograph. The group photograph was taken at Horse Guards Parade. Richard

Great pictures Dave Now who's going to come up with a suitable collective noun for "Hayliens" Best wishes Dave Depends on who they are ......... How about a host (or a halo) .... if they seem angelic? Or maybe a H-pod of Hayliens sounds better?
