Hi all, The rain doesn't stop here in Inverness and so I've plenty of time to search the web. On www.shrewsburyabbey.com/left_menu/abbeyarts.htm you can find "...Saturday, 21st November - possible concert with Hayley Westenra - to be confirmed..." Cheers, Karsten

Oh, I hope it is confirmed. That will be my 65th birthday, and what a way this would be to celebrate it!!!

Hi Martin Oh, I hope it is confirmed. That will be my 65th birthday, and what a way this would be to celebrate it!!! That would be a great birthday present indeed! I checked my diary and I'm booked to be scoring at an annual quiz in Derby that night! May have to consider handing in my resignation! Best wishes Grant

In which case it will be nice to meet up with you again Thomas, If I make it. My plans are too involved with immediacy to look that far ahead at teh moment and I think i have to get Bath into perspective before coming forward.

Hi Roger,
Is there still no confirmation from Bedlam for this one?

Hi all, It seems possible that another Christmas concert will take place. I've just got a confirmation from the Abbey that Hayley will be performing there on 19 December 2009, 7:30 pm, but, as yet, no ticketing arrangements have been made by the promoters. The friendly staff told me that I'll be notified as soon as details are available. Of course I'll forward the information as soon as I get it, hoping for a confirmation by Bedlam afterwards. Cheers, Karsten P.S.: May I ask one of our admins or moderators to change the date in the thread headline? Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for that, Karsten. I have changed the date on the thread title. I have not yet received confirmation from Bedlam but it does fit in with "whispers" that I heard from them a few weeks ago. If correct, it could be the first of several.

Hi Karsten and Roger Ha! I've just looked at the Abbey website and the word "possible" has disappeared with the change of date so it looks as though we may be nearer the truth now! I notice it's the Abbey's Christmas Fair on the original date. When confirmed, the change of date will get me out of a shed load of bother which will be a great relief!! Best wishes Grant

Hello everyone Although never confirmed by Bedlam, Shrewsbury Abbey are now advising that this concert is 'cancelled' and have published this very strangely worded message on their website. The way this is worded suggests that it is Hayley's budget constraints although I'm sure it is actually the other way round. Bit naughty that!! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant,
Thanks for the update. It sounds really quite strange and I've to confess that I had looked forward a bit to this concert.
Hopefully there'll be a 'substitute' elsewhere - what could be better than a Christmas concert inside a church.
Cheers, Karsten

Well, I lost interest in it when they changed the date away from my birthday.
