Well, according to Wikipedia, this program was used in the '09-10 season. They got 5th at the Grand Prix final, and 3rd at the Russian championships. Interesting it doesn't show their results from this season, although it lists their program this year. It's interesting that they chose JA's version rather than Josh Groban's. I'm glad they did, though. I wonder how they heard of him. Maybe Jonathan heard of him in Australia? I bet that's it. JA has some Aussie fans here, too. Well, maybe I'll see them in senior competition soon. Too bad they aren't senior yet, then the song would be heard on U.S. TV. Oh well. I find Jonathan's origins interesting. His mother was "Soviet", and his father was Portuguese, but he was born in Australia, and now he lives in Russia!

Hello Libby! Here's a translation of the Russian comment on YouTube: I've done some research and found the names in brackets are another Russian skating pair, Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin. Here's their official website: en.domnina-shabalin.ru/Best wishes, Richard

Thanks Richard, but I do know all about them! Consider me the resident skating expert! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I don't know much about junior skaters, because they're never shown on TV, at least not over here. If you're interested, you can also read about Great Britain's best ice dancers at the moment, Sinead Kerr & John Kerr of Scotland. They're one of my favorite pairs! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinead_Kerr

I love ice skating! These performances with Hayley's songs are really intersting, I've never seen them before (and I'm watching european and world championships every year )! I've done some research and found the names in brackets are another Russian skating pair, Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin. Here's their official website: en.domnina-shabalin.ru/These are really good skaters, they are the actual european champions of ice dancing. Sinead and John Kerr are also exccellent in my opinion, but I heard that they would maybe retire soon...I hope not! The european championships are taking place these days in Bern, maybe there will be one or two Hayley's song, I'll watch closely ^^ Best wishes, Elsa

Hi, Elsa! I love Stephane Lambiel of Switzerland! I usually get to see Europeans, too, but I'm not sure this time. The U.S. national championships are going on right now, too, so the channel I watch isn't showing Europeans yet, but I hope they do later on.

Hey, look what I found! A CD/DVD that has Mao and Mai Asada's programs, including the one they skated to by Hayley, White is the Color for Lovers! www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=TOCE-56330I think that's a picture from that program, because the dresses look the same. Now, the skating fans who buy the CD will hear Hayley!

Maya just shared this with me: Miki Ando, the 2011 Ladies World Champion, recently skated to I Am A Thousand Winds by Hayley!! Unfortunately there's no video of her entire program (yet), but you can hear the song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=da_KDUy8bio

Her program is very beautiful! Thank you so much, Maya! What does Miki say in the interview afterwards? Miki said," I decided to choose the song as a message for those who suffered the devastation of the earthquake and the Tsunami. I am hoping to cheer them up by this". Best wishes. Maya

Thanks Maya, I figured she might've said something like that, but I just wanted to know for sure. I posted it on my Facebook and Twitter pages, too.

I forgot to mention it, but twice now I've seen a local girl skating to Hayley's version of I Feel Pretty! My older sister has been taking skating lessons, and she has been in 3 competitions so far. During the last 2, I saw a little girl from my sister's rink skating to I Feel Pretty. Since I haven't actually listened to that song very much (I'm not that crazy about WSS), and because the acoustics of the arenas aren't the best, I wasn't absolutely sure whether it was really Hayley. But when I got home, I looked up Hayley's version, and yes, it was Hayley! I could tell by the background music, too, and the arrangement and all that. Plus I couldn't find very many other famous versions of the song besides the original. I don't know if this means the girl is a Hayley fan; quite possibly it means she wanted to skate to the music and decided she liked this version best... but, then again, she might have had to buy the CD to use the song, so who knows? Actually, another possibility is that the coaches have certain pieces of music available for their skaters to use, and sometimes they might use the less popular recordings, since they're probably less expensive. Since my sister's program music didn't sound exactly like what we're used to (Legends of the Fall), I'm beginning to think this might have been the case.
