Hi Grant,
Yes, you are right, and that is one of my favourite Hayley dresses too! It just shows how closely I look at these things doesn't it? I suppose with Hayley I am more interested in listening to her. That's my excuse anyway!

Hi Jillian, I have never ever seen that pink dress & stainless steel top but the red poppy dress is the all time cutest dress Hayley (who's been described as "terminally cute" herself) has ever worn. Graeme PS The bottom pic shows Hayley celebrating her 18th birthday. Download this clip to see an enlivened dress: www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=83f987c3ff45924dd2db6fb9a8902bda

Hi Graeme, Hayley wore the shiny pink dress to the American Society of Young Musicians 12th Annual Spring Benefit Concert held at the House of Blues on 3 June 2004. Here's a very pretty portrait shot of Hayley and you can see that the bodice is made of rainbow sequins! Thanks very much for the birthday video!

You're welcome Jillian. The video was made by Gerrit by the way. [He's supplied many of the clips for us here at HWI.] It's a gorgeous clip !!! Thanks for the sequin closeup. Although I've been married for 39 years, the intricacies of female apparel remain part of their mystique. And I have yet to vote..... Graeme PS and the brown toned dress....did you manage to identify it??

Oh sorry, Graeme, I should have mentioned it! It was taken during one of Hayley's concerts at Bournemouth Pavillion on April 1 2004. I found quite a few of these photos at www.gettyimages.com. If you type 'Hayley Westenra' into the search box you should find a lot of photos complete with descriptions.

No 2 and No 13 for me-13 is stunning, equally no 2, and did I not hear Hayley say at Lowestoft that green was her favourite colour??

I voted for #2 and #12. The dark green would be the prettiest green she could ever wear. I've liked her other green dresses before (the lime one not so much), but this green would look so nice with her hair and complexion. This looks more like a "Greek goddess dress" than her old green one did, which I read she was calling it; you know, the one you guys call the Celtic green one. I think this one is prettier than that one. However, I'm not sure whether the top looks strong enough to hold "things" in place, if you know what I mean. I mostly prefer long, stunning gowns, on any lady, not just Hayley, but out of all the short ones you posted, I thought the style of #12 would suit her best. I do like the color of the short blue one, #8, though, but I just liked the style of #12 better. Actually, to me, #12 would make more of a nice concert dress than an awards show outfit. To me, long gowns are the best choice for awards shows. I also really like the orange, red, and the first pink one. The short pink one is nice, but I don't like the way it's shorter in the middle of the skirt; it looks too much like it's hitched up. A hitched-up skirt is very tacky. By the way, I can't imagine why you picked #11 as a possible dress for Hayley. That is absolutely not Hayley's style! The poofy rosettes in the "bosom" area are a bit disgusting. It calls attention to that area, and to me would give the impression that being all dolled-up is all the person cares about, and is not serious. I doubt that one will get any votes. The design of the skirt is okay, but the top is yucky.

What a fun poll! I'm surprised no one has voted for #6. It's my absolute favorite, and I think Hayley would look stunning in it! I agree bright colors would "make an impression" but I've always favoured black and white for making a really classy statement. (And it's not even pure white, it's off-white, which is even more original!) I also really like #8. I like the asymetrical and Grecian influences-- both very big trends this year. And I love those shades of blue! Dress #5 is certainly gorgeous, but it doesn't look terribly "Hayley"ish to me. (But what do I know?) It also looks just a tad too fussy for an outdoor red-carpet walking event. Especially if she plans on making another grand entrance like last year! Of course, not that my first choice is un-fussy, but it's a more "structured" fussy, if that makes any sense, haha. #5 looks like it would be rather hard to keep "in place," while #6 for all its drama and frills, is a fairly basic cut.

The design of the skirt is okay, but the top is yucky. I guess variety is the spice of life and I wanted to include a wide variety of styles and something with a bit of old school glam. I personally didn't think that there was anything indecent at all about it -- sure, it is a little 'hey look at me', but I think there's nothing harmful in that. But as I said before, one person's trash is another's treasure when it comes to fashion. Also, this is just a bit of silly fun, consisting of a few images taken off 'Google Image' to pass the time while there's not much Hayley news -- nothing to be taken too seriously. It's worth noting though, that dresses don't need to be worn exactly the way they're shown on the runway -- small alterations can be made. The way that actress Frieda Pinto's dress changed from the runway to the red carpet is quite remarkable: (By the way, the model is wearing flesh coloured underwear for modesty, so don't worry, I'm not posting anything rude) That said, designers usually showcase sheer dresses without underlays so that the detailing can be seen properly -- it was probably meant to be worn in real life the way Freida wore it.

HI everyone!
What a great idea for a poll Jillian! I've been mulling over these options since the poll came out and I couldn't decide until now. I choose 2 and 6. Even though Hayley wore a green dress last year I loved this design a lot, and I figure she may be able to get it in a deep blue or something. And as for number 6 I loved the simple elegance of this gown and I could really see Hayley wearing it.
I could also see Hayley in a shorter dress, but none like those which were posted. It will be interesting to see!!

Well, I think on reflection that I can only vote for one of these, the one that stands out for me is no 2. As for the rest, I can't decide.
