All this discussion about Hayley's hair is fascinating. He is only the second woman I have ever seen whose hair appears to be different colours under different lighting. This is very niticable in the photos I took at Stoke last year, ie On Stage and at the signing afterwards And it really did look different. It isn't just my camera! Martin

Ha, ha, ha -- Hayley's hair is a bit like one of those chameleons that are always changing colour! Or maybe Hayley is like Tonks out of Harry Potter -- for those who haven't read the books (firstly, I'd recommend them, because they are very entertaining) the character Tonks is able to change her appearance at will - so she'll always changing her hair colour from brown to pink to purple etc. I do like that black and silver dress Hayley is wearing in that photo, Martin. Do you have any full length photos of it?

Yes, Libby, I'm a great believer in nonadornment. Obviously she needs it when under stage lights but generally speaking she is a classic case of not needing to paint the lily.

I agree, your second picture, Jillian is superb, very unusual and the eyes have it without a doubt!
As for Pure, it is either a wig or dyed for the occasion and she obviously didn't like it. May have been an over-enthusiastic marketing ploy before she felt gutsy enough to say 'no'.

Hi Jillian, Unfortunately I don't have a full length photo, but I remember it was knee length, and sorry I don't know the technical term, and seemed to stand out away from her legs. BTW Peter, those photos are mine. You might also remember something about that dress, since you are an observant soert of fellow and I know you were there. Martin

I just stumbled on these photos which I'd never seen before. Apparently they're from the Capital 95.8 'Help A London Child Swaps Ball' on 3rd October 2008. I think they definitely deserve a place here in the Fashion thread! That's quite a spectacular dress! The detailing around the bodice is very pretty. I'm also trying to figure out what style Hayley has for her hair... is it up with a few pieces left down to frame the face? Or is it down and just sitting that way? Does anyone have any more photos from this event? Click for larger: I found these photos at: www.brunopress.comThis dress is giving me a major case of de ja vu -- I have this gut feeling that I've seen it on someone or somewhere before, but for the live of me I don't know where.....

Hello again Jillian I do like that black and silver dress Hayley is wearing in that photo, Martin. Do you have any full length photos of it? Hi Jillian I took quite a few photo's at the signing session - I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can find one that shows a bit more detail. Best wishes Grant As promised, here are a couple of pictures of Hayley's Stoke dress, to the best of my knowledge, this was the only time she has worn it. More bodice detailWith TimJ showing more skirt detail Hope that helps Best wishes Grant

Thanks very much for those photos and the video, Grant and Martin! I stumbled across a little find yesterday -- purely by accident when I was just browsing through a rather good fashion blog. For anyone who's interested it's: www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/Hayley's red dress that she wore to the 2007 New Zealand Music Awards (and Shepherds Bush) seems very similar to this dress by Catherine Malandrino which has been worn by a few other celebrities in different colours: (Click for Larger) I'm not entirely sure if what Hayley is wearing is the real deal though -- I could be wrong, but there's slight variations in the fabric and pattern that have me wondering. The designer dress appears to have a sheer overlay and Hayley's appears to be made of solid fabric. The detailing around the waist and hem is different too --- just embroidering rather than the solid discs of colour. Every time a designer comes out with something, there's usually an immediate trickle down into more affordable shops. Sometimes the dresses are all but identical except for small changes in fabric etc. Maybe I'm being overly suspicious... But I guess there appear to be small differences and the designer dress is between 650 -700 pounds.... Anyway, that particular dress doesn't seem to be available online any more, but the designer does like to use the disc pattern through a lot of her pieces. There's some vaguely similar items for sale here: www.net-a-porter.com/Shop/Designers/Catherine_Malandrino/AllOn the topic of wearing the same dresses as other celebrities (ha, ha, -- you all know what's coming next!) I thought that I'd mention for anyone who missed it, the dress that Hayley wore to the premier of 'Marley and Me' was designed by DKNY. www.net-a-porter.com/product/40689?cm_mmc=LinkshareUK-_-Custom-_-Link-_-Builder&siteID=uX705jPoOnM-VxXgK4SwpF92mAZHc1C4TgIt also comes in black: www.net-a-porter.com/product/40688I'm still rather surprised at the chance of that happening! I wonder if a journalist will ever ask Hayley a question about it? I'd be interested to see what Hayley thought! But it definitely got both girls in the papers! I think that it got them a full page in the Mirror! The cynic in me wonders why more aspiring celebrities don't ring each other up and do a secret deal to wear the same dress to a premier! It works! On another note, I've sent e-mails to both Xterity and Rachel Couture asking them about the dresses they've made for Hayley. It'll be interesting to see whether I get a reply or they just press 'delete'!
