One of Hayley's outfits that I really love is this one she wore for a photoshoot with Celtic Woman (click for larger image): The main reason being these: You'll notice that they're the exact same dark blue as the dress and with matching black beading. What a match! There's something about exactly matching dresses and shoes that makes me go squee! Ha, ha -- maybe it's because you don't see it all that often because such a match is hard to find and it's expensive to buy new shoes for just one outfit. I wonder if she got to keep them? I think that they'd look good with this dress: Speaking of darker blue dresses, I love this dress:

I thought I might say that I do really like this outfit that Hayley wore to the Japanese Unicef function on 7 April. (Too bad I can't find bigger photos anywhere!) The little scarf really makes that outfit (they're all the rage in Australia right now) and everything matches really well. (By the way, are those red framed sunglasses I see? ) I also liked it because it's not that often we see Hayley in 'dressy' casual. Either it's fabulous evening gowns or something simple that she has just put on for a sound check and not designed for the glare of photographers --- well, except the HWI ones! I actually rate this as my favourite non-evening dress 'event' look. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI've also noticed that since the beginning of the year Hayley doesn't seem to have been curling her hair. Time for a change? Or maybe her curling tongs just broke!? UPDATE: I just found this photo: The blurb on www.photonewzealand.com says that it was taken on 5 July when she sang the NZ national anthem at 2nd test, All Blacks vs British and Irish Lions, Wellington. I've looked through the forum for a mention of this event and I couldn't find anything (but I could be blind). I was wondering if there were more photos? I wonder if that is the same silver vest as Hayley is wearing here: (Thanks, Richard!)

Hi Jillian,
Yes, I wondered about her curling tongs! They don't last forever you know. But I think her hair is naturally straight, and that look suits her as well as any.

Hi Martin, Yes, the look does suit her and it shows of the natural volume of her hair. It would also be a lot less labour intensive as I'd imagine that it only needs to be blow-dried and maybe touched up a little with a hair straigtener --- as opposed to curling (something which I've never been able to master) which takes forever. The reason I pointed out the change is that Hayley seems to pick a look in regards to hair and stick with it for quite a while. I think that I can pick out only very few noticeable changes that Hayley has made to her hair throughout her career: She started out with very long, straight, smooth natural hair: Then I gather it was cut shorter Then I think that a subtle hair colour was put through it to warm up the colour: www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/1586574/1024/Picture-Box/HayleyHair.jpg Then I think the next difference is that she either cut it or styled it so that it framed her face more: Next came the biggest change that Hayley has ever made. During 2005 and 2006 she started lightening her hair colour. Then back to brunette: And then she settled on a colour which is fairly blonde but not as blonde as it has been, and it seems to have stayed the same since: (Last 2 photos are screen captures from Maya's videos - Thanks Maya) But looking at a few posts above me, it seems darker in these most recent shots: Hmm... ha, ha, ha --- perhaps just the lighting or maybe Hayley popped into the salon during some downtime? Oh I give up! Looking back through some old threads, I think this topic has caused many headaches! But all in all, nothing really dramatic! But of all things fashion, I can't understand why Hayley doesn't wear this smashing outfit more often!

I've also noticed she's been wearing lighter makeup, too, which I think looks a lot better. The way she's been styling her straighter hair is so pretty, too. I like her hair curled, too, but without so much bright makeup. The makeup is pretty, but it covers up some of her natural features, which are so much prettier. The light in her eyes when she smiles stands out more without all the eye shadow she used to wear.
Don't forget about the very dark hair she had on the cover of Pure. I've always wondered why she did that.

I wasn't sure whether to include the Pure album shoot or not. Is the consensus on here that Hayley didn't actually have her hair that colour, but it was a product of lighting and photoshop? Maybe they thought it looked striking compared to the white (pure) backdrops used in all the photos? Though I do just love this: It's very rare to see Hayley with her hair arranged in anyway but 'down' and her eyes here are just incredible.

Hi Jillian
What a brilliant idea to compare Hayley's different styles. I also prefer her current straighter hair style but have always loved her hair when it was very long which is why I particularly love the "I Dreamed A Dream" video.
As for the last photo, well, it has been regularly suggested that Hayley would look good in anything and I think that proves it!
In case anyone is unaware, the photo was taken in Nottingham during the Il Divo tour when Hayley was invited to partake in the closing out ceremony for the refurbished Market Square. She helped lay the last slab and buried a copy of "Odyssey" underneath it.
Best wishes Grant

Best wishes Grant I have seen that picture hundreds of times (One of Jon's favourites from Nottingham ) That is the first time I heard about the copy of Odyssey Maybe I should bring a paving slab to the next concert and have it signed in soft cement , Roman tablet style with a stylus or a quill

Hi Comet That is the first time I heard about the copy of Odyssey Well I got part of it wrong! It was, of course, positioning the first slab not the last that Hayley did back on April 1st 2006, and I was quite surprised to find that the link to the newspaper article still works. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/4868142.stm but I'm sure the bit about the "Odyssey" CD is correct although I can't find any mention of it. Can anyone else remember? Maybe it was something Hayley told us at a subsequent concert. Best wishes Grant

Hi Jillian, That is something I have often wondered... In fact every time I play Pure It does look almost an 'unreal' colour. Does anyone who saw Hayley back then know the answer Best Wishes, Graham

Jillian, where are Maya's videos? I didn't see them in the Hayley on Youtube thread, or the Japan tour one, so where is it?
