At age 70 I have lived through some great musical eras in the U S. I just don't think the present one is up to par. I do agree with your last statement. Just one glimpse at the Grammy awards show this year, and I was absolutely digsusted with the music industry here these days. It was just awful. My only interest in the show was because Josh Groban was nominated for something, but I knew they wouldn't show that category, so I didn't watch it. Alantie, the Japanese albums are available at CDJapan for a better price than Amazon, because Amazon has to import them. It's still expensive, but it's worth it to me. I'm an American fan, and I feel very well-informed, mostly because of this forum. I'm usually the one on the official forum providing all the information there, mostly what I find here, but sometimes things I found myself. I've never been to a concert of Hayley's either, but I still reply to many of the posts. Usually I respond in regards to the photos, or about the songs she sang, or something. I love to see what she's wearing, too. Just because I can't go doesn't mean I'm not interested in the shows or don't have anything to say about them. I'm not sure I'm really buying your reasons in regards to all Hayley's other American fans. It's not that hard to do a search in google or youtube, and find all sorts of sfuff, unless you don't have a computer, or something.

Hi everyone, There's a seriously under-appreciated thread here that could do with a boost called "Why Isn't Hayley Popular in the US?" hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Miscellaneous&action=display&thread=4451I rather gather that this is quite a hot topic on here because "Surefire Ways For Hayley To Succeed in the US" has 31 pages! hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Miscellaneous&action=display&thread=2342I don't want to sound pushy, but your opinions are really interesting and it'd be a shame for them to be lost amongst piles of sequins, high heels and chiffon! On the fashion front, maybe the answer is this! Libby, as for the chocolate dress, I think it needs to be that short - Firstly, to prevent death from sugar shock (ha, ha) and secondly, using some of my dodgy maths, a box of 12 lindt balls weigh 150g. So 1000 balls is about 83 boxes. So that means the chocolate would weigh about 12.5 kg. If the hem was just above the knee you'd need double (or possibly even more) the chocolates - so that'd be 25 kilograms. Either you'd fall over or your dress would be down around your ankles!

Hi Jillian ! I wish Hayley wore that dress last July 4th! That ruffle dress with the rosette at the shoulders is lovely as well! Best wishes, Joe

Hi Joe, The first dress I posted is actually a wedding dress made by designer 'Lady Roi'... mmmm... I did a quick search and I read that sometimes people have 'patriotic weddings' on July 4. Is that common? www.peridress.com/shop/product.php?productid=4426Actress Meryll Streep has also gotten in on the action with this Catherine Malandrino dress (who I suspect designed the red dress Hayley wore at Shepherd's Bush --see a few pages back) Though I do think that Hayley looked great in her red (appropriate colour) Xterity dress: Perhaps a flag dress might have been a bit gawdy for the event, but it would have been a show-stopper for an after party or the like! Maybe something a little more subtle like this dress (or top if you're less brave!) with jeans or (knowing Hayley) tights and boots? Katherine Jenkins wore this British patriotic themed dress when performing to British Troops in Iraq last year: www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-509308/G-I-Jenkins-How-Welsh-opera-diva-Katherine-swapped-designer-dresses-desert-camouflage.html

Hi Everyone, I was admiring Hayley's gold sequined top that she wore during the newly uploaded interview and wore during her TV performance of Songbird. So I thought that I'd have a bit of a look on the internet to see if there was anything similar floating around. I found this top which I think is a very close match and I'm wondering if it could possibly be the same one. What do you think? Click For Larger www.rokit.co.uk/product.php?product_id=WC150112Here are some (unfortunately small) screencaps of Hayley wearing her top: Unfortunately I don't have any proper photos. Does anyone have any better ones? This must make me seem like some crazy stalker --- but in all honesty I'd seen that top on the internet before and thought that it was awesome without making the Hayley connection. It was only when I so the video that Ross uploaded that something twigged and I remembered that top I'd seen. Looking closely, I think there's a slight variation on the back of Hayley's where there's more black and the markings on the butterfly's wings are in silver instead of black. But everything else seems pretty identical. It's a relic from the 80's and I've seen a few variations of it floating around. Anyway, this very similar item can be yours for 45 Pounds -- about 90 Australian dollars. Click Here: www.rokit.co.uk/product.php?product_id=WC150112I think that's actually very good value considering the amount of detailing and the price that items like that usually go for over here. But I won't be buying it anytime soon --- I think I'd feel a bit like a stalker!

Hi Jillian, Your powers of observation truly amaze me... I think you have correctly identified Hayley's top - apparently there is only a minor difference though... the butterfly on Hayley's top is black rather than gold! You don't miss a trick do you? Andrew

Hi Jillian, As promised, here is a better version of the picture of Hayley's pink dress which I posted the other day. I have also included two other pictures of Hayley which feature in the Japanese Tour 2007 Photo Book. Enjoy! Hi Alantie, Welcome to the forum. It is perplexing to not be able to join some of the discussions with our U K friends about Hayley's concerts. However, we can keep hoping that someday she will be able to tour the U S on a yearly basis. Larry

Oh wow, I really like the pink dress and the third one. The second one I'm not so fond of-I think because the cut seems a bit awkward/low for the dress. In response to jilian, I'm not sure about patriotic weddings, though I wouldn't be too surprised. Personally I find being plastered with something resembling a flag a bit odd, but that could just be me. One last off-topic thing, I took the liberty of "moving" the off-topic discussion to the "Why isnt Hayley popular in the US?" thread as jilian kindly suggested.

I love that white dress you posted, Andrew! Are there any photos of Hayley performing in that dress?

Hello Jillian! I don't think Hayley has ever performed in that white dress. I'm fairly certain Andrew's picture is from a photo-shoot, so the dress might have been borrowed specially for the occasion. Richard

Hi, I think that we may be talking about a different dress! I've seen these of the white dress on Getty, but unfortunately most of it is obscured by a music stand! Now I just wish that there were more bigger and better photos of this: Hayley must be using her spare time to do some shopping! It's a bit different from what we've seen on Hayley recently -- the bodice is a lot more fitted further down the torso. Most of Hayley's dresses recently have either been empire line (i.e. fitted around the bust and then free flowing over the rest of the figure) or have been slightly loose fitting but pulled in at the waist with ribbons or belts.

Jillian, that top almost looks different than the Songbird/Shepherd's Bush/Il Divo tour one. That one always looked more silver and less gold. That one has more gold, maybe even some black. Either it's a different one, or she had it changed somehow. Joe, I think Hayley did well by choosing the gorgeous, red gown, rather than a gaudy flag dress! That certainly would've caught people's attention, but it would've taken their attention away from her actual performance. Hayley is wearing that low-cut white dress in a photo in her book. It's not the first time I've seen it. That other white dress is the one she wears for the first 3 songs on Live from New Zealand. I like it much better than the other one. The material does have a pretty design. Where did that new blue dress come from? I like it! Don't worry, I won't go off-topic here anymore (after this). Anywyay, Larry started it! All I did was post the photos of Hayley at the Crystal Cathedral, because I liked her top, and he started on about it, not me! I would rather have not discussed it here, but that's where it was, and I had something to say in response, so I did. And that's the truth!
