Perhaps it might give Hayley some well deserved rest time in which to perhaps visit her family in New Zealand or have fun with her friends in London. That could only be a good thing for her health wise and creativity wise. Being relaxed and not being busy and under pressure might just stir up some creative juices for her next international album! Afterall, good things take time.

What!
Missing Hayley already? Or (like Peter ) just want to see New Zealand? Eugene has found the solution:
Fly from Dublin (only) to Christchurch,
on 1st or 4th May (return 18th May),
for the modest fare of €390 (euro) return.Eugene is rearing to go - if he can! PM Eugene for details I followed this thread with mild interest, never even considering the possibility of going to new Zealand, we had priced it last year while my daughter was there and it was just to expensive. Then I got a phone call from one of our members about flight prices and availability, all hell broke loose, trying to reorganise things to make this a possibility. Various obstacles and casualties fell by the wayside, there was a fair bit of collateral damage. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif but things fell into place and a plan was hatched, we were booked on flights to be in NZ on the 6th May and eight of the ten concerts were a possibility. I would normally spend more time planning a local trip to Limerick or Belfast. There were six of us set to go. Just like that it was a reality, the longest single journey of my life planned and booked in a matter of hours. We were just waiting for availability of tickets for the concerts from Dunedin to Auckland, I was like a child in a sweet shop trying to pick the best ones first, but wanting them all as well. we were about to start booking internal flights this morning when I saw starbucks message , I laughed and thought Huh ! April the 1st Then I checked the Official site, I stopped laughing, then back here and saw Rogers post..

Hi everyone, I guess it is just one of those things that happen,I thought it was strange when Ticketek knew nothing about a Hayley concert tour on the eve of them (tickets) going on sale which would have been tomorrow. Never mind folks the tour could go on later in the year perhaps After all it was only last year that Hayley did her “ In Touch With Nature” tour with Dave Dobbyn. I am going to take a punt on this I recon probably Feb/March 2010 is more likely which puts it on schedule of two yearly visits. just a guess folks, but I hope I am wrong. cheers, Rodders

As always, an anticlimax is always a bit upsetting but from my own standpoint I'm happy that Marianne & I are more likely to be able to go in August - September. She's with her mum & siblings throughout May so I was just going to do a rushed circuit of Tauranga, Auckland & Hamilton by myself. September, here & in New Zealand is spring which is a lovely time. I'm I was all set to buy tickets tomorrow but had made no other bookings until those were firm. Hope you & your friends can cancel all right Paul. Larry, your shoulder has a bit of time to heal now. Ross, Belinda, Dori.....she's still coming to you....just a postponement, thats all. Peter, you've got more time to organize now. Graeme

:'(Luckily I haven't booked any flights, hotels etc. I thought it was strange that there was very little info on the ticketing websites which has gone now of course. The only ad I have seen was the one in the Sunday Star Times. (Better keep it Dori as it is now a rare item lol ). I even was taking Friday off work so I could get the tickets but now I can have a relaxing day off instead. At least I can change my holidays to August/September and it will be spring in New Zealand then.

Hi Paul All I can say is WOW - Like you these days, I too normally spend a great deal of time planning things and even my Hayley Concert trips take up alot of time and effort - because I want to think of everything and for things to go right. I can therefore only imagine what a huge decision it must have been to have gone ahead and booked for NZ - almost on a whim - the reality of what you had done, still not hitting home yet. And now suddenly - no tour. I am so sorry and I do hope that you can limit the financial damage as well as the emotional Best wishes Mark

Oh ! its not at all bad, we are going to go anyway, ( Well 2 of us ) instead of going through the hassle of canceling . We had not booked holidays for this year due to various reasons. So this has just been a catalyst in making a decision, any decision. I have wanted to visit New Zealand for many years, ever since they daringly removed the subsidies from farming and let the free market rule their economy, Which at the time, many feared would bring financial disaster to their country. So, every cloud has a silver lining and we won't be under pressure to move from town to town and meet deadlines.

Dear Comet, you had obviously gone further in your plans than I although I was just chasing myself to watch timings as my 'options' started closing at the end of this month. Perversely I was waiting for the actual ticket sales to be available and to confirm I had them before making the commitment in hard cash.
I can understand the devastation your family must be feeling. I was badly hit when RoD was cancelled for Cardiff. I had made irreversible commitment for transport and hotel (having decided to forget money, letting it be a luxurious trip in, overnight and out). That expense is of course nothing more that a good dinner in relation to the arrangements you were planning.
If you can't back out of the travel, NZ does seem a great place but you are in early autumn. That is why I do not intend to make Aug/Sept. I'm going for NZ. It just happened Hayley was going to be there at a convenient time so why not jump to it?
Going in the summer will be more difficult and requires more careful planning but it did not appear to be quite the right season for whale watching, let alone swimming with dolphins as you can do at Kaikoura.
My plans were to be static in Chichester for a week, walking or using taxis, taking the Alpine day trip through the mountains one day then training up to Picton for the Wellington ferry, via Kaikoura. A day or 2 in Wellington and then train (route to be confirmed) to Auckland, via the geysers at Rotoroua. That took me north and slightly warmer areas as autumn slid into winter, hoping I could manage another trip to do South Island more just further down.
Next time, I may consider hiring a campervan, although I like train journeys, so may be a mix of the two, campervan south of South island then train elsewhere.
Your family has my deepest sympathy.
Peter S.

They are talking August/September, Scoobedoo but if Feb/March 2010 then that is your summer? That could be an interesting option but I'm now more likely to make NZ in my own time and pace, what ever Hayley does.

I have never been a great planner of things, letting circumstance and opportunity, luck, wind and tide carry me in what ever direction it will. I have no idea what I will be doing in two or four weeks time or who I will be working for and it does not bother me in the least. I often wonder how other people lead such pre- planned lives , organised for months or years in advance, that would just scare and depress me. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif although I have booked for Hayley's concert in Dublin in December, Probably the only appointment in my diary for December. NOW thats what I call planning the future Just leave it wide open :bat: although it does make my family slightly nervous

Hi Comet. I am glad that some good has come out of what could have been a catastrophe.
I too have always wanted to go anyway and as I am lucky enough to see her live in the UK quite often, whether or not I actually meet her, I was simply going to hang round the Chichester date as that is a great city and good base from which to do day trips. The Auckland concert was a chance add-on. I was working my way up and although hadn't confirmed departure dates, could have gone back to Rotaurua or elsewhere afterwards, although it had seemed logical to tie-in with my flight back from there.

Hello everyone
I feel very sad for everyone who had been looking forward to and building up their anticipation for this concert tour and I particularly include Hayley in that statement.
I'm sure she has been looking forward to performing 'at home' and, as has already been said, it is the last thing Hayley needs so soon after her illness and the postponement of part of the RoD tour.
I guess, at the moment, the Japanese tour will be keeping her mind occupied and I just hope that these changes won't jepoardise her trip home to spend her birthday with family - now that would be a disaster!
Best wishes Grant

Best wishes Grant Hi Grant I'm sure it won't as it was always Hayley's intention to have the holiday in NZ after the 15 date tour of Japan. The only change might be that she returns to the UK earlier than planned after this holiday. Best wishes Martin
