Eddi Reader has been on the go since the early eighties, Busking and playing with local bands in Scotland.. some of you may know her from the early hits like Perfect around 1988 and A Smile in a Whisper and Clare in 1989 with Fairground Attraction from the album The First of a million kisses then came Aye Fond Kiss in 1990. A live album : Kawasaki Live in Japan was recorded in Japan in mid 1989 ( but did not become available until 2003.) Then it all seemed to fall apart. Thus ended Fairground Attraction..
Eddi went solo starting with Mirmama in 1992 and has had a string of wonderful albums since then.. Eddi Reader (1994) UK #4 Candyfloss and Medicine (1996) UK #24 Angels & Electricity (1998) UK #49 Simple Soul (2001) UK #92 Driftwood (2001) Sings the Songs of Robert Burns (2003) UK #86 Peacetime (2007) UK #93 The Songs of Robert Burns Deluxe Edition (2009) UK#100 Love is the Way (2009)
The reason I started this thread is I saw he again live in The Academy in Dublin the other night and she was just as amazing as ever.. I am surprised that she has never had a thread here before

Eddi was chatting with Marty Whelan this morning on RTE Lyric Fm.
If you guys are looking for someone to listen to give Eddi a listen.
Eddi released an album in 2014 called Vagabond.

Oh wow ! the number of posts in this thread is about to increase by thirty three per cent. I saw her again ! Yes I did and she was better than ever, such wonderful songs by assorted writers including Boo Hewerdine, Mark Nevin, Teddy Borowiecki, Robert Burns and of course Eddi herself. Interestingly there was no drummer with Eddi using the occasional shaker, hand clap or the occasional handbeat on a guitar body , Like any good concert, time passed quite quickly. I did pick up a NICE 5 Disc Boxed Set the blanco y negro years two of the discs are of "Bonus Tracks" and you would need to track down a lot of singles to get all of them in one place, the other three discs are original albums. LOOK HERE for more information
