I think you will find that at a concert the copyright of any pictures or video or audio recording belong to the artist - so if you are asked not to take photos or videos you are infringing copyright legislation.
This apparently was added to some programmes
We have been asked to bring the following warning to the notice of all
'It is an offence (punishable by fine and/or imprisonment ) against the provisions of the dramatic and Musical Performers' Act 1958 to 1972 to make any recording of a musical performance without obtaining the prior written permission of the performers and the promoter. It is also an infringement of the Copyright Act 1956 to record performances of copyright musical works without obtaining permission from the copyright owner, normally the publisher'.

I enlarged the text in the quote.

Di,
What you are referring to relates to the recording of an artist, using such media as audio or visual recording devices.. however, this is something that would have to be argued before a court.
The concert organiser or artist would have two ways in which to proceed - either via a criminal complaint to the police or appropriate authorities or through a civil suit.
Neither or those would allow security guards to confiscate camera equipment or delete images. If you chose to hand your camera over to the security guards, that is your choice, but all that they can legally do is ask you to leave the venue. Anything more than that, they would have to contact the people or their lawyers.. security guards have no ability to enforce the law
