Hello everybody! Hayley is appearing in Songs of Praise from Lincoln Cathedral, to be shown on BBC1 TV on Sunday 18th December 2005, from 5:10pm to 5:45pm GMT. The information was obtained from the Christmas issue of Radio Times. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Richard.
Re: Hayley at Lincoln. Thank you Richard for the tip off. Lincoln is another glorious cathedral.
It has an association with my home town in that a former headmaster became Dean of Lincoln, Dr Fry.
He was the precursor to Charles Greene which is why Graham Greene was born in a boys' school boarding house--his father was then a house master.

I can see a problem coming up with video coverage - Hayley will be appearing with The Choirboys in "Do you hear what I hear?". Last time I put on videi material in public of the Choirboys, at least someone objected.
I don't think I will put it at my index page for Hayley Westenra for a while - just post links at some forums.

Hi Gerrit, many thanks in advance and many thanks also for your recording of Hayley's performance during José Carreras Gala last Thursday. Shame on me, but my DVD-recorder was not working correctly and I was happy to see your recording on the net. Greetings, Lothar

I have just watched and listened to an absolutely lovely performance of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" by Hayley and The Choirboys. They sung it in Lincoln Cathedral at the start of the (prerecorded) programme and this song is perfectly suited to Hayley's voice and style... the Choirboys, too.
Gerrit has said he will post a link to it (thanks Gerrit) so I won't do so at the moment - but if there are any problems, I have it recorded in case of need.
Don't miss it!
Dave

That was a beautiful performance! Hayley's voice seemed to sparkle and it blended quite nicely with the Choirboys.' Keith would have been proud.

Hello everybody! I watched the whole programme yesterday, which was excellent, but Hayley's performance with the Choirboys was the highlight. Thanks for posting the clip, Gerrit, so everybody can see it. Best Wishes and Happy Christmas, Richard

Thank you Gerrit for the speedy link posted on this site within a couple of hours of the performance! I am impressed and the sound quality was OK this end. And what a lovely performance it was too, well done Hayley! Just out of curiosity what software have you used to produce the file Gerrit?

Hi Steve,
I used PowerVCR to capture the video in mpeg1 format - then I used VirtualDub/VirtualMod and Audacity to edit the video and sound streams.
The final result I imported in MovieMaker, to create a WMV without the need for any further editing. (MovieMaker isn't really up to sophisticated editing.)
Cheers,
Gerrit

Thanks Gerrit, what a performance. I have heard clips from the studio version of the collabration but the live version on Songs of Praise is so much better.

Wow, was that really live? It was so gorgeous! I love the Choirboys, and Hayley sounded beautiful. It was just what I needed to hear.

Hi Cathleen,
No, the programme was not broadcast live. I can't find the exact date at the moment but it was recorded roughly two weeks ago.
