I suppose if Customs understood that Hayley is worth more to us than gold the charges would be higher. Clearly customs have no sense of urgency, no wonder so much drug traffic comes into this country unnoticed by customs! Peter S. Peter, Don't encourage them to rip us off even more. All taxation is theft! Happy Birthday Nicola! Martin :2fun: Oi ! what happened to "Render unto Ceaser......"

Track 9 Many Times Always. This seems to be a song by someone who was driven over the edge, Someone who was pushed too far and has gone to that beautiful place we call insanity to protect themselves from reality. It has a beautiful airy fairy feeling to it where nothing can go wrong, even in the dark. "But I hold a light to light my way" This is the most beautifully insane song I have ever heard. I can see a girl dancing, holding her dress up with both hands as she waltzes alone, totally oblivious to the world around her, In a world of her own, where everything is perfect in her eye.. reflecting something new in shattered glass pieces. Anyone know the origins of this song or the original writer ? This song stands out the most on this album. Such a beautiful song. Its sad, yet happy at the same time. I like Comet's description of a "beautifully insane song". "Broken glass pieces fall from the sky" being the strangest line. When I listen to it, I feel like I'm walking on air, and have drifted off into a child-like world of clear blue skies, green fields with many colourful flowers, balloons and sweets falling from the sky. Somewhere where I can forget all of life's troubles. Its amazing what music can do for the mind, and the soul. Hi Comet and Irish-Hayley-Fan. The song is the ending theme song of Japanese animation movie "Spirited Away". I hope below page would help you to know more about the song. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirited_AwayI translated "いつも何度でも" as "Many Times Always" trying not to loose the original meaning and to keep the length as short as the original. Above page uses "Always, No Matter How Many Times". I just pick up the important part for you. ------------------- The closing song, "Always With Me" (いつも何度でも ,Itsumo Nandodemo?, literally, "Always, No Matter How Many Times") was written and performed by Yumi Kimura, a composer and lyre-player from Osaka. The lyrics were written by Kimura's friend Wakako Kaku. The song was intended to be used for a different Miyazaki film which was never released, Rin the Chimney Painter (煙突描きのリン ,Entotsu-kaki no Rin?). In the special features of the DVD, Hayao Miyazaki explains how the song in fact inspired him to create Spirited Away. ------------------- Hope this could be close to what you are looking for. Best wishes. Maya

Well said, Comet, my thoughts precisely but I hadn't bothered to post at the time. We must all remember to pay our way in this world.

Hello everyone Sat down and watched the DVD whilst my tea was cooking. I just love it!! Particularly the first track where Hayley is dancing around the garden - she looks so happy and contented it almost made me cry The more I play HSJS2, the more I love it. I'll try to put it into words when I have a bit more time, but it's not going to be easy!. Best wishes Grant

I still haven't had a chance to sit down since yesterday, and I should go off and put my piano together and walk my dog, so I guess I will giving the CD a good listen tomorrow.

She seems a very happy girl and thoroughly enjoying herself. Peter S.

I am so glad that this album exists. I was getting a bit worried about how everyone was raving about the first Japanese album and how I wasn't feeling it, but this album is 10 times better. She sounds lovely, and the songs *sound* Japanese (most Japanese popular music is electronic). I didn't get the Japanese sense with the first album, but with these ones I can imagine one of my J-Pop singers performing them. I'm only on my first listen, but first impressions are very good. <3

Who wrote track number four? I definitely have heard it and know it, but it's winding me up that I can't work out where from!

Peter, Don't encourage them to rip us off even more. All taxation is theft! Happy Birthday Nicola! Martin Oi ! what happened to "Render unto Ceaser......" I don't think even Ceasar's goons, unpleasant though I'm sure they were, would blackmail people by kidnapping their Hayley CDs and refulsing to allow them to be played until they were paid. That amounts to mental cruelty! But theft, as I understand it, is the appropriation of someone else's property without their permission, with the intention to keep it. Since taxation is compulsory, whether we like it or not, it qualifies as theft. And Peter, it has nothing to do with whether or not we approve of the uses to which taxpayer's money is put, or whether we think certain sevices are worth paying for.. Like most people I suspect, my own opinion ranges from strong approval to utter disgust, depending on which use of taxpayers money I am thinking of. But I should shut up, since this risks straying into politics, which is not an appropriate subject for discussion here. Martin
