Hello everyone, HMV Japan tell me that a new album entitled "Hayley Meets Japanese Songs 2" is scheduled for release in Japan on 11 March 2009. I will assume that its final title will be translated differently, to make it Hayley Sings Japanese Songs 2 or possibly, something entirely different (we can change the thread title when we know). There will again be a Limited Edition SHM-CD. There is no tracklisting yet and for the moment, I think this one thread will suffice until we know more about it. I've temporarily tucked it into the board for the first Japanese album. www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/3519913Hayley is also listed on her official Japanese website for a major 3 week tour in Japan starting on 12 March, clearly to coincide with the new release. See the concerts thread for more details of the tour. Dave

I can't wait for this one! So it might still turn out to be called "Hayley sings more Japanese Songs". When I saw this thread Ithought I had got the title of the album wrong in my predictions for 2009!

Indeed, I think an album like HSJS is what makes Hayley's style a bit different from other singers. Certainly can't wait for this 'sequel'! Tin

These two posts have been moved from the 'List of Hayley Albums' thread. I wonder when the recording was done?
maya. Hi Maya, I heard for the first time about a new HSJS album in september, when i was at the concert in Dublin. I guess the recordings were made. after Hayley came back from Ghana. I read somewhere that her first HSJS cd, was recorded in just 3 days!!!

OOps.....can i place this Quote in the thread Dave already started??
Hayley told me about the new album at the Lincoln Castle concert in August, and I got the impression that she hadn't recorded it yet. It must have been some time in September/October I guess.

Well, my predictions for 2009 seem to have been uncannily accurate so far. And this isn't much different to the title I predicted it would have, when, as predicted, it was released in March.

Well, my predictions for 2009 seem to have been uncannily accurate so far. And this isn't much different to the title I predicted it would have, when, as predicted, it was released in March. Martin Yes, you are right, Martin. I thought the release would be not soon since her health condition was not very good. But the recordings were already made and it will be in 2 months from now. I am hoping that the new CD will not be used too much of technique called dynamic compression by the audio engineers in the Universal Records Japan this time. When HSJS was released last June, the Administrator Dave mentioned that the dynamic range (range of loudness) of it had been compressed more than usual for Hayley albums. It seemed to me that he was a bit disappointed as I was. At that time I had been waiting for HSJS preparing newly made digital amplifier by me and I was not very happy with it due to the limited quality of her voice and instruments containing IMD (Inter Modulation Distortion). The dynamic compression reduces the quality of the recording increasing IMD. The harmonic distortion can be almost eliminated by the filters but IMD can not be. CDs have a dynamic range of more than 90dB and this does not need strong compression as was done for conventional vinyl records in old days and the bigger dynamic range was one of the good points of CD. Although I bought SHM-CD of HSJS, my preparation for making a new amplifier was not fully effective for it and I analyzed the sound and I almost found the reason why. Minako Honda's already recorded part was compressed too much and to make the level meets, Hayley's part was also compressed like this. hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=japanese&action=display&thread=3830&page=2 The duet with Minako, "Amazing Grace" was the first song and other following songs were also compressed, I assumed. I had known this HWI for years but I had never posted any due to my language handy cap up to that point. But I was in a mood to check how others were feeling and finally I decided to post. Then I found Dave's and other's comments which were exactly same with me. I was warmly welcomed and I felt happy knowing Hayley and knowing supporting members like you guys newly. Since then, I visit here more often and I sometimes post some comments. As I wrote you before, English is not my mother tongue and I need some efforts to read and write but visiting here makes me to get used to read fast since there comes many posts from members. It seems to me that Hayley likes Japan and she also likes some of our songs. She is actually about to release her Japan-unique album again and I must prepare for it tuning my amplifier and expecting better sound from CD this time. maya.

Is "Mother of Mine" the same song that Neil Reid took to the top of the charts in 1972 ? I'm showing my age here !!
