Wuthering Heights promo DVD

Hello Everyone

I cannot believe that this DVD has never had it's own thread. I haven't been able to find anything significant about it on any other thread either, so I hope no one will object if I put the matter right now!

Now I would like to share a little story with you!

This was only the second item I purchased off Ebay, on 13th March 2006, and I was desperate to get hold of a copy. Unfortunately I was on duty at Derby Playhouse at the time bidding ended, so had to put in a bid before I went out and hope for the best! Needless to say, I had a job concentrating throughout the evening and rushed home to see if my bid had been successful - thank goodness it had!!

Now I keep a file on my computer for each of my Ebay purchases and, for the first time since I got the DVD, I had a look at it this morning. The seller had a very persuasive argument for would be bidders:-

WUTHERING HEIGHTS (THE VIDEO) 3:25
This very rare, unreleased DVD was only broadcast once before being withdrawn, it has only just been added to the Hayley Westenra International web site, see below link for a preview of the Video. However the quality of the original DVD is breathtaking.

See what the site admin Roger Mansbridge of the Hayley Westenra International website says of the find at last of this rare DVD, recorded in 2004. The DVD is a professionally produced demonstration DVD issued to the classical media industry.

You will not be disappointed at this very beautiful DVD Video of Hayley Westenra performing Wuthering Heights, this is a real collectors item, not to be missed. You will not find this DVD for sale anywhere. It was never released to the public.

Of course, back then I didn't know anyone at HWI, and it would be the following July before I would venture onto the forum, so I had no idea who the seller was. Perhaps I better not give too much away here but hey, I hope you spent the money wisely Steve! and I shall remain eternally grateful!

One final question though. Does anyone know where this video was made? There is a detailed view of the main house right at the end, but no one I know has been able to identify it for me.

You surprise me! I though your eagle eye would have sought one out by now, though they are extremely rare. I think the last one I saw went for over £60!!

The video is the same as the one contained on the deleted single that Roger referred to earlier.

Hi Grant,

I have been outbid by the same two or three people on several Hayley items recently,
I have invited a couple of them to visit us here on the forum as they are very obviously serious Hayley fans.
Maybe they are already members here but are not prepared to reveal their Ebay identity which is fair enough I suppose.

But I am dying to know who they are

Hi Grant,

There is an existing thread about this in the Wuthering Heights sub-board in the Singles board. It was, of course, intended to be released as a single so this was a promo DVD for the single - and you posted about a copy of it in that thread here, over a year ago.

And even though it's a DVD (well DVD-R), it's a promo for the unreleased UK single so hopefully to avoid further duplication, I'll move this thread now to the WH sub-board and I've locked it temporarily while we decide on the best way to avoid further fragmentation of the discussion.

Hi Grant & All,

What a great find that is !! I have a few bit clips of that DVD but certainly not DVD size.

I'm not really a collector of anything but the songs themselves & any videos I can get hold of so you'll never find me competition for ebay items like this.

Enjoy it !!!! Tell us if Hayley's recent performance of WH was noticeably different to that on your newly acquired DVD.
